The Goldbergs is an American sitcom TV series created by Adam F. Goldberg, based on his own childhood and family in the 1980s. The series has been going on for 9 seasons, and the 10th is on the way. The 1st episode of Season 10 will come out on September 21. The show is narrated by Patton Oswalt, who you may have recently heard as Matthew, the Raven in The Sandman. Oswalt voices the adult Adam Goldberg, but since the series is based on Goldberg’s childhood, he is portrayed by a younger actor, Sean Giambrone.
Including Giambrone, and the 2 actors who are no longer on the show (you know who), here is everything we know about the cast of The Goldbergs.
Sean Giambrone
As briefly mentioned above, the young Adam Goldberg is portrayed by Sean Giambrone, who is now 23 years old. In the 1st season, Giambrone was actually only 14 years old. Apart from this TV series, the young actor usually does voiceovers. He did the voice of Jeff Randell in Clarence (2013-2018), and he still does the voices of Yumyulack in Solar Opposites (2020- ), Ben Pincus in Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous (2020-2022), and Jimmy McGill in Slippin’ Jimmy (2022).
He also starred in Kim Possible (2019) as Ron Stoppable and Mark & Russell’s Wild Ride (2015) as Russell. If we turn to the actor’s dating life, we’ll see that he is pretty much private and doesn’t share much about it.
Wendi McLendon-Covey
The matriarch of the family is Beverly Goldberg, an overly protective mother who usually interjects herself into the lives of her children. Wendi McLendon-Covey plays her. The actress used to play Liz in Rules of Engagement (2010-2013). She voices Nancy Green in Big City Greens (2018- ) and Monica Rappaccini in Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. (2021). She also appeared in the following movies Bridesmaids (2011), The Single Moms Club (2014), What Men Want (2019), and Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar (2021).
She is 52 years old and has been married to Greg Covey, film producer, since 1996.
Jeff Garlin
Jeff Garlin, who left the cast of The Goldbergs in late 2021, used to portray Murray Goldberg, the family’s patriarch. After rumors of complaints about Garlin’s behavior on set, the actor left the series so that he won’t be on the new season. It will be interesting to see how the showrunners will be able to recover from the loss of Murray.
If we return to the actor, we see that this series is his biggest work. Besides, he is a series regular for Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000- ). He also did voiceovers for Toy Story 3 and 4 (2010 and 2019). The actor was in a marriage for 26 years, with Marla Beth Cahan, from 1994 to 2020. The couple even had 2 children. Right now, Garlin (60) is in a relationship with Sari Tracht.

Troy Gentile
Troy Gentile plays Barry Goldberg, the middle child of the family. Gentile is 28 years old and is best known for his role in the 2009 movie Hotel for Dogs. He also played the younger versions of the actor Jack Black in 2 movies, Nacho Libre (2006) and Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny (2006). It seems the actor is dating a woman named Jessica Inn, according to an Instagram post from 2019.
Hayley Orrantia
Erica Goldberg is the oldest and the most rebellious child of the Goldberg family, and Hayley Orrantia portrays her. Orrantia does not have many TV and film credits since she also has a singing career. Her film appearances include God’s Not Dead (2016) and Christmas Is Cancelled (2021). As a singer, Orrantia put out an EP called The Way Out in 2019.
Orrantia is 28 years old, and she is engaged to Greg Furman. The engagement announcement came on June 29 through Orrantia’s Instagram account.
George Segal
In this article, George Segal is the last member of the cast of The Goldbergs. Unfortunately, the actor passed away at the age of 87 back in 2021 due to complications resulting from bypass surgery. He used to play the character Albert “Pops” Solomon in the series. Segal was a popular and established actor, appearing in films like Ship of Fools (1965) and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966). He also starred in A Touch of Class (1973) and Just Shoot Me! (1997-2003). Throughout his career, Segal won 2 Golden Globe Awards and was nominated for an Oscar.
The actor went through 3 marriages: Marion Sebel (1956-1983), Linda Rogoff (1983-1996), and Sonia Schultz Greenbaum (1998- ), with whom he was still married until passing away. He had 2 daughters from his 1st marriage.
