Even though it’s been two long years since Ty Borden died on Heartland as Graham Wardle left the show, we are still struggling to make peace with him being absent from the show.
It’s been a while since we said goodbye to Season 15 of Heartland. The show has been a favorite of ours for about 15 years as we love almost every aspect of it. It is fun, smart, and engaging. Of course, we cannot say that it has no flaws. It might get boring at times and sometimes rush through some plot lines.
However, for the most part, it is almost a perfect wholesome show. It captures the natural atmosphere of Alberta, Canada in a perfect way. It reaches a point where we feel like we are a part of that world. We imagine ourselves hanging out with the Heartland family, riding horses, and enjoying the fresh weather. Besides, the characters of the show are also pretty amazing. For a character-driven story, it is a must to have likable, successfully written characters that feel like 3-dimensional people. Let’s have a quick rundown of some of the best characters of Heartland.
Heartland Cast
The first name that comes to mind is Amy Fleming and yes, she is a true angel except for the wings. She is nice, smart, hardworking, and beautiful. She is a great daughter, great sister, great-granddaughter, great friend, and a great mother. She has almost no flaws and we love her. Lou Fleming is the perfect career woman who reminds us constantly that this show might take place in a dreamy environment but it is still set in the world of the 21st century. She knows how to live life and enjoy it to the fullest.
Then there is Jack, a grandfather that we all need. He is a highly experienced man with a very inspiring attitude in life. He loves his traditions and tries to preserve them but he also knows how to adapt to modern life and does not look down on the novelties. He is a great support in life and we believe he is a pure treasure. Then, there is Tim, a controversial character with a lot of complexities. A lot of us still did not forgive him for living his family for a decade and returning after his wife died. On top of this scandal, he had a lot of more minor ones that we had some mixed feelings about. Still, he has been the number one in the show in terms of having a character development and we love to see him grow.
Heartland Ty Borden
Now, it is time to talk about one character that we have been trying to avoid all this time even though he came to our mind as perhaps the first name of the show that deserves a shout-out: Ty Borden. Ty Borden was a worker of the ranch, a lover of Amy, a son to Tim, a grandson to Jack, a brother to Lou, and a father to Lyndy. He was the perfect gentleman that we all love.
And yet, he has died a couple of years ago through a series of unfortunate events. He has been a target of a hunter by mistake. At first, he survived as the operation was a success. But then, a blood clot claimed his life, making us all shocked. This death was a total tragedy for the Heartland family, as well as the fans, as we are still trying to overcome the trauma it caused. Knowing that he died because of a reckless hunter who wasn’t supposed to hunt that poor wolf in the first place is the most frustrating thing and yet, getting angry will not bring Ty Borden back.
Do you also think Ty Borden died for no reason at all?

I don’t think the show will be the same without Ty. I probably won’t watch the show after he dies. I love the show very much. But without Ty I won’t watch.
