Why Did Ty Borden Leave Heartland? – Graham Wardle Fired?!

Losing Ty Borden was one of the biggest tragedies during the course of 15 years of Heartland. The subject continues to be a matter of suspicion for all the Heartland fans as they question whether Graham Wardle was fired or not.

One of the most beloved Canadian shows of all time is the Heartland, a show about a small rancher family. Basically, for 15 years, we followed this family going from one place to another and even though it was simple, it was pure magic to us. Whenever we went home, felt upset or particularly happy, there was always a Heartland episode to reflect our emotions. Thus, we had a special bond with the show and could not take our eyes from it for almost two decades.

One of the biggest plusses of the series was the fact that its cast members remained mostly the same throughout this long period. Can you believe it? A cast of about 10 people has always played the same characters in this brilliant but also humble show for years. Naturally, just like in many soap-opera-like productions, we started to assume that these actors are these characters. We watched them grow up, fall in love, get married, climb up the career ladders and share a lot of magical moments.

Therefore, we found it difficult to separate the actors from the actress for the most part. Instead, we liked the idea that Heartland was basically a documentary about these people’s lives and thus all these actors will always be there to claim their specific parts. Unfortunately, we were wrong. What happened instead was the fact that one actor decided to leave the show suddenly and we, as the fans, got shocked that lasted for almost two years and even continues to last for more.

By the time we reached Season 13 of Heartland, the show and its characters had already become household names years ago. The show’s plot was also reached a very mature point. What do we mean by that? Well, Jack was with Lisa, Tim was finally getting ready to settle down, Lou was questioning her relationship with Mitch, which may sound like a bad thing but it was a good improvement for her to realize what she wants, and the kids were all growing up so fast, getting their sub-plots just like Georgie and Quinn did.

Is Ty Borden Dead?

The protagonists of the show, Ty Borden and Amy, were also enjoying the mature stage of their relationship. They were married and had a lovely daughter named Lyndy. Both of their careers were going very strong and their main dream was to raise Lyndy and have a peaceful life. To be honest, this was our dream too. Unfortunately, instead of this, we witnessed our couple being the target of a hunter’s gun by mistake. Both got injured heavily in the incident.

While Amy got good quickly, Ty Borden had to go through a serious operation. Still, he managed to return to his home and spend more time with his family. Unfortunately, at the most unexpected moment, a blood clot took his life, and he said goodbye to us. Ty’s death has become one of the biggest events of the show, as many fans, including us, could not acknowledge how such a thing could happen.

Is Graham Wardle Fired?

Of course, the main reason behind such a death was not showrunners’ or scenarists’ cold hearts. Instead, Graham Wardle, who was playing the part of Ty Borden, decided to leave the show two years prior so that he can look for other opportunities in life, which is something we emphasize with. Still, we find it difficult to accept his absence from the show even after two years.
