Now that the 4th movie of the After film series, After Ever Happy, is finally out, we can rank the After movies based on critic and audience reactions. Although none of the movies in the series are ever liked by the critics, reviews for certain films are worse than the others. Despite this PG-13 romance/drama not being able to make reviewers happy, its target audience, primarily teenagers, seems to be satisfied with what they got. However, even they criticize the movies for their particular aspects. The same goes for the After film series, whose introduction to the story of Tessa and Hardin with After (2019) received the best reviews from critics. 18 is the best score the film series ever got on the website, and reviewers who did not give it a 0 argue that it is a well-made film for its target audience. Some reviewers even praise Josephine Langford’s performance, saying she was impressive despite the limited range of her character.
The other reviewers cautioned everyone to save money and not buy a ticket for this movie, arguing that it is a dumpster fire of a film full of clichés and that it has no story worthy of attention. The 2nd best film on our list is After We Collided (2020), the 2nd film of the franchise. This movie even has a lower score than the previous one. Its RT score is 13%, based on 16 reviews. The only positive reviews the film received from critics are about how the film offers escapist fun and that it is well-made for every teenager who was waiting for the books to become films. Other than that, the film is criticized for not being innovative, being filled with clichés, awful dialogue, and a boring plot.
On IMDb, After We Collided has a 5.0 score, with commenters saying the film is boring, cringy, annoying, and overall not worth watching.

3. After Ever Happy

Right when you thought we were going chronological, we’ll hit you with the latest movie in the After film series, After Ever Happy (2022). Although the 4th film’s IMDb score is worse than the 3rd film (After We Fell), its audience score on Rotten Tomatoes is surprisingly high. The film’s critical ratings are not enough to make up an average score, but the audience score on RT is currently 93%, with commenters saying the movie was incredible at capturing the feel of the books. On the other hand, the 4 critical reviews on the website are all negative.
The film has a 4.2 rating on IMDb, the lowest score on the website compared to the other films in the series. But we believe that even this does not make it a worse movie than what follows below.

The worst movie of the film series is definitely After We Fell (2021), the 3rd film. It has a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with reviewers raging about how dull, messy, incomplete, and boring this movie is. It seems the audience agreed with the reviewers for this one, as the film has a 34% audience rating on the same website, the lowest of all After movies. Even fans agreed that this movie was just about 2 toxic people fighting and then having sex.
After We Fell has a 4.6 IMDb rating, with reviewers agreeing that the 90% of the movie was about the couple having a fight and then making up.
