Today is a bittersweet day. The good news is, Lucifer Season 6 is here and it is better than evet. The bad news is, this is the last season of Lucifer and in the end, we had to say goodbye to all of our beloved characters, which was quite harsh after investing so many years in them. Before further ado, let’s get dive into what had happened in Lucifer Season 6 and discuss what we feel about this ending.
Lucifer Season 6 consists of 10 episodes, each of which serves a purpose. This means that even though there are episodes more chilled than the others, there are no truly filler episodes that make you feel like you are wasting your time. In each episode, you witness major character development for almost every character of the show, from Lucifer to Amenadiel and Mezikeen.
Lucifer Detective Chloe
However, probably one of the most interesting storylines belongs to (former) Detective Chloe as she did not get an impressive character arc so far in the series. Having Amenadiel’s necklace gives her major powers, which alters her relationship with Lucifer in a good way and she starts to not only get her partner better but also explore her new self outside the detective work.
Even though Chloe is no longer a detective, there are still criminal mysteries in this last season that our power couple works on it together. Thus, while focusing on individual characters and their evolution more than any other season, Lucifer Season 6 does not fall into the trap of boring the audience by only focusing on dialogues and personal revelations. It is still full of adventure, action, and fun. Nevertheless, there are some major twists and turns that prepare the audience for a surprise ending.
Lucifer Season 6 Recap
The biggest one of these twists is the revelation of Rory, the dark angel, who turns out to be the future child of Lucifer and Chloe. Rory’s entrance to the series is truly magical and exciting, while also being scary at times. Since she is seeking revenge from his father for being absent from her life, Rory is filled with anger and has no compassion in her to forgive Lucifer. Yet, this situation changes at the end, bringing a solid ending to the story of not only Rory but also Lucifer, as he finally finds his cause in life.
While trying to ease Rory through multiple major incidents, Lucifer realizes that he does not want anything bad in him anymore and wants to be a fully good person (or demon, or angel, whichever one you prefer). Then, he decides that he wants to get rid of all the evil in the world. In order to achieve that, he decides to treat the lost souls in hell by providing counseling for them.
While this decision makes him feel fulfilled with himself, at last, it also comes with consequences as he has to leave his family behind for his goal. Chloe supports him in his decision, as she knows this will eventually provide a better world for Rory to grow. Rory, who came from the future to hold him accountable for his absence, understands him as well and returns to her own timeline peacefully.
Lucifer Season 6 Ending Explained
In the end, we see Lucifer in hell, trying to heal the damaged souls while Amenadiel is in heaven as the God. Chloe goes back to LAPD as the detective while Dan reunites with Charlotte Richards. Mazikeen and Eve continue to hunt down the criminals while Linda and Amenadiel celebrate their child, Charlie’s birthday as his angel wings start to emerge.
Years later, we see Chloe in his bed, about to die. Rory, freshly returned from his adventure in the past, asks Chloe how she managed to handle all of this alone, and Chloe answers that she has no regrets. As she dies, Amenadiel welcomes her in heaving, asking what she wants. Then we see Lucifer in hell. The door gets opened and we see Chloe behind, saying “ I thought you might need a partner.” So, surprisingly, Chloe ends up in hell, reunited with her eternal love, Lucifer. Well, that’s what we call a great ending to a marvelous story!
