Sanditon Season 2 finally arrived on March 20, 2022, and four episodes have already aired. How time flies! Despite the fact that the fans of the series welcomed the 2nd season warmly, they were also disappointed not to see Charlotte and Sidney together. As you know, a lot of water has gone under the bridge, and we must now get used to seeing Charlotte without Sidney. As the main character, though, Charlotte seems she still has lots of things to experience in Sanditon.
Sanditon Sidney – Theo James
Theo James, a 37-year-old handsome actor, plays the character of Sidney Parker in Sanditon. The young actor is best known to the general public for his role as Kemal Pamuk, an Ottoman Embassy attaché, in another Masterpiece PBS show, Downton Abbey. However, James has appeared in a number of films and television shows, including Divergent (2014), Netflix’s hit fantasy drama The Witcher, and the dark comedy series The White Lotus, to name a few. We should add that he is a brilliant actor, and the films and TV shows in which he has appeared are well worth watching.
Sanditon Sidney
James’ performance in Sanditon was also outstanding, and his portrayal of Sidney left a lasting impression on the audience. The majority of Sidney’s fans adored him for his charm and kind heart, regardless of how rocky he appeared at times. Sidney is also the family’s black sheep, being isolated, arrogant, and underappreciated. In the 1st season, he is Charlotte’s romantic interest.

Sanditon Charlotte
Charlotte Heywood is played by the thriving actress Rose Williams in Sanditon. So far, the 28-year-old actress has been in a number of films and TV shows, most particularly in historical and period dramas such as Medici and Reign. Williams has also joined the cast of Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, a period drama, which is set to premiere on July 15, 2022.
Sanditon Charlotte
Charlotte Heywood is an authentic young woman who, due to an accident, had to move to the small English town of Sanditon. She is sensational and free-spirited, which is why she wants to get to know the locals and become one of them. The town’s greedy inhabitants, though, as well as their complicated relationships, shock her. Meanwhile, she meets Sidney Parker, one of the Parkers’ sons, and the two develop a romantic interest in each other. It isn’t an easy-peasy lemon squeezy for them to be together, though.

There were various external factors that influenced Charlotte and Sidney’s relationship, and it was extremely challenging for them to handle it no matter what. Despite this, we, the fans, wanted a happy ending for the love story of Charlotte and Sidney. The 1st season finale, on the other hand, caught us off guard and broke our hearts.
Sidney married rich widow Eliza Campion as a result of his brother’s financial difficulties. In addition, Theo James announced that he will not be returning for Season 2. As a result, Sidney’s relationship with Charlotte came to an end. Charlotte was completely in love with Sidney, and his decision to marry someone else devastated her. Despite this, we had a ray of hope that Sidney would return to Charlotte before we found out he was killed at the start of the 2nd season. The couple has been through a lot, but it appears that they are not meant to be together, which is heartbreaking.
Charlotte and Sidney
Charlotte returns to Sanditon after Sidney’s death. Nevertheless, she manages to put herself together in a short period of time. She might even be ready to move on to a new chapter in her life and new relationships! There are two suitors for her, the mysterious Alexander Colbourne (played by Ben Lloyd-Hughes) and the war hero Colonel Francis Lennox (played by Tom Weston-Jones). After all, Charlotte is the main character in this story, and she has to move forward in order for us to see more adventures.
Sanditon Fanfiction
There is a whole slew of Sanditon fanfiction on the internet. The fans of the series seem to be keen to write about it, and they are quite creative. What’s more, the love story of Charlotte and Sidney continues in the majority of fanfictions. If you can’t get enough of the duo, the fanfictions are a must-read.

Yes I would definitely like to see Sidney marry Charlotte in Season 3. Please. Make Sanditon great Theo and return so your character can marry Charlotte.

It shocked me when Sidney didn’t come back. I have talked to many people who did not like it after he left. He made that show. Everyone I have spoken to would love to see him come back again. I think it would be to his advantage if he returned. Great actor

Yes, Charlotte and Sidney should be together! Season 2 was so sad and I didn’t warm to the new guys. Luckily, as you say, there is plenty of fan fiction where they live happily ever after. Just a shame that Season 1 didn’t finish with them together.
