The season started with Tim and Jessica returning from their long holiday. It turned out that they got married while they were traveling and did not bother to let any of the family members know about it. Naturally, this caused some resentment among the family members. So, one day, when they were all on a cattle drive and camping in the woods, the subject was brought up again and some could not keep their resentment a secret anymore.
Taking the hint, the couple decided to organize a small ceremony to celebrate their marriage with their family. It was an even for only the close family and friends and it was everything the couple has wanted. Another plot was focusing on the burglaries in the town. Since the equestrian therapy center was hosting a lot of kids with troubled backgrounds, some of the residents were more than ready to blame these kids for the crimes even though they had no evidence to blame them.
So, the Heartland family decided to take a stance in favor of the children and Amy even decided to raise one of them as a horse trainer. Amy was also struggling with her problems, as the killer of Ty got released from prison. When she ran into him, she couldn’t help herself but feel depressed again. But, she soon realized that neither violence nor crying after Ty will be the solution to her pain.
Then, she decided to move own for the sake of her family and friends. She invested in the therapy center and named it after Ty. Last but not least, after a season-long back and forth between Lou and Peter, the couple finally decided to come back together and even remarry as they realized they were true loves of each other.
