In the book, Lina takes her mother’s diary as a guidebook and travels around Florence with Lorenzo, enjoying the historical beauty of the city and also getting to know her mother better. In the film, on the other hand, we only see a few trips to tourist spots; because it’s not possible to transfer everything from the novel to the film.
