Ty Borden was the best character of Heartland and we still can’t believe he will no longer be in the show. To acknowledge this fact, we need to go over how he died over and over again.
It’s been a while since Heartland Season 15 has come to an end. Throughout the season, we watched our protagonist, Amy, trying to overcome the loss of her husband, Ty Borden, and hold back on to life. We saw her going on to the night outs, hanging out with friends, enjoying life, and even flirting with people. It was a very refreshing plot for the character, as she almost never had the chance to go through character development in the series so far.
Heartland Amy Fleming
Why? Well, because she was nearly perfect and had no flaws to fix. Therefore, she was always a lovely but also very much not an exciting character. But, her husband’s death troubled even her, such a perfect and flawless character, and forced her to change some things about herself. Usually, in books or movies, we witness men losing their wives or girlfriends or even mothers so that the plot can go on and they can build a new character on the anger and sorrow of losing a loved one.
However, it is very rare to observe the total opposite of this situation, when the men die and allow the women to grow upon that loss. This is one of the reasons why we love Heartland. It subverts the cliches and provides us with something interesting. First, Amy had to acknowledge that Ty Borden will no longer be around and that she cannot get obsessed over her job to avoid the pain. Thus, she started to make space for a bit of social life in her regular schedule and get back on to the scenes.

The next step was much more challenging because she had to face the killer of her husband. It was a major moment for her as her anger grasped her entire body, forcing her to take revenge. And yet, she took time, put a pause on it, and reflected on what to do next. She ultimately decided that revenge and anger are not the solutions to her pain.
There are no solutions to her pain since Ty will not come back. Instead, she decided to let him, the killer, go out of her sight and mind. Now, to understand why Amy had to go through all these complicated phases, we need to take a few steps back and remember what had happened to Ty.
Heartland Ty Borden Death Explained!
In the Season 13 finale, Ty Borden and Amy were taking a walk in the mountains of Alberta. Then, they realized the wolf that was approaching them. It was a shocking scene as they were not expecting to see a wolf in such a hurry and even angry. Then, they realized the wolf was actually scared and had no other chance but to run.
When they were trying to protect themselves from the possible dangers of the owls, they heard a gunshot and felt a burn. They were injured. Thankfully, they reached the hospital in time and went under the necessary treatment. And yet, the treatment was not enough. Well, it was enough for Amy but, for Ty, things were about to get a bit more complicated.
By the time we were sure that Ty Borden was okay and had nothing else to worry about, we had to watch him collapse and lose his life. Why? Because of a bloody blood clot that no one came to see. It was a very tragic scene that none of us could believe in. We had to watch the same scene over and over again to accept that Ty got killed off and we had nothing to do about it.
