Putting her career as a priority in her life, we witnessed Lou’s fight to become the mayor of Hudson during the recent seasons and her struggles as a mayor afterward. Determined to be a good mayor, Lou’s initial thoughts while engaging Mitch were that she can finally focus on her career, rather than starting yet another family. Yet, her assumption was not exactly right. Besides, she realized that she still has some feelings for Peter, which are making her reconsider her decision to marry Mitch. All these second thoughts forced the couple to take a break.

Well, there is no certain answer to this question as of yet. She first got married to Peter and had two daughters with him, Katie and Georgie – who was adopted. Later, the couple got divorced, and Lou started to date, Mitch. While we were expecting Heartland Lou and Mitch to get married, at the end of Season 14, the couple broke up, due to Lou’s ongoing feelings for Peter. Now, we, as the confused fans, are eager to see who will be the one that Lou ends up with eventually.

Does Peter cheat on Lou?

Well, not officially. During their separation period, there have been multiple suggestions on Peter’s possible betrayal to Lou. However, those claims have never been confirmed. The reason why their marriage has failed was not the betrayal of Peter, but the fact that he was a workaholic who never spends time with his family and rather prefers being in his office in Vancouver.

Unfortunately, yes. The dreamy romance between Lou and Peter has come to an end during Season 8 as the couple decided to get a divorce, the story of which lasted for about two seasons.
