It was announced that The Crown season 5 will premiere on Netflix sometime in November 2022. Another piece of good news! Imelda Staunton makes the cut as Queen Elizabeth II in the fifth season. She also announces the release date from The Crown‘s set. Staunton’s resemblance to the Queen attracts attention. Claire Foy and Olivia Colman previously played the Queen in previous seasons.
The Crown Season 5
The Crown‘s official Twitter account announced that “Elizabeth Debicki will play Princess Diana in the final two seasons,” referring to seasons 5 and 6. As a result, we don’t expect Princess Diana’s death to be mentioned in the fifth season. The sensitive subject of Diana’s death, on the other hand, would most likely be the case of The Crown‘s sixth and final season. Unfortunately, the official trailer for the fifth season has yet to be released.

What happened in The Crown Season 4?
Season 4 of The Crown premiered on Netflix on November 15, 2020. The fourth season’s plot revolves around the years 1979 and 1990. This season introduces us to Margaret Thatcher, also known as the Iron Lady, the United Kingdom’s first female prime minister, and Diana Spencer, later Lady Diana, Prince Charles’ wife. To order the events in the fourth season chronologically, the wedding of Diana and Charles takes place first in 1981, followed by a trip to Australia and New Zealand two years later.
Furthermore, the Queen and Thatcher’s disagreement over apartheid in South Africa leads to Thatcher’s resignation. Another significant event occurs in the final episodes: even though Charles and Diana’s marriage ends, the Queen refuses to allow them to divorce. With that in mind, The Crown‘s fourth season keeps fans on the edge of their seats!
