The Crown‘s official Twitter account announced that “Elizabeth Debicki will play Princess Diana in the final two seasons,” referring to seasons 5 and 6. As a result, we don’t expect Princess Diana’s death to be mentioned in the fifth season. The sensitive subject of Diana’s death, on the other hand, would most likely be the case of The Crown‘s sixth and final season. Unfortunately, the official trailer for the fifth season has yet to be released.

This season introduces us to Margaret Thatcher, also known as the Iron Lady, the United Kingdom’s first female prime minister, and Diana Spencer, later Lady Diana, Prince Charles’ wife. To order the events in the fourth season chronologically, the wedding of Diana and Charles takes place first in 1981, followed by a trip to Australia and New Zealand two years later.

Furthermore, the Queen and Thatcher’s disagreement over apartheid in South Africa leads to Thatcher’s resignation.
