Why Netflix Cancelled Another Life? – Explained!

We are sadly sharing the news of Another Life’s 3rd season: it looks like the show will not get another season. Netflix has canceled the sci-fi drama after the release of the second part and the news is confirmed by the star Katee Sackhoff.

Season 3 will not take place because Netflix has recently canceled Katee Sackhoff’s program. Aaron Martin, who wrote for Degrassi: The Next Generation and Slasher, produced the sci-fi series Another Life. The show premiered in July 2019, with Sackhoff starring as Astronaut Niko Breckenridge. Other performers in the show were Samuel Anderson, A.J. Rivera, Justin Chatwin, Elizabeth Faith Ludlow, and JayR Tinaco.

Another Life accompanied Breckenridge as she led her team on a perilous expedition to uncover the mysteries of an alien artifact, with no promise of safe return. Season 2 saw the team return to Earth to use a virus that destroys the relic that inspired their mission.

The season concludes with numerous extraterrestrial species opening portals to great humanity and allowing transit across worlds, with Breckenridge’s team preparing to embark on new missions. While the finale of Season 2 left the door open for further investigation, the show’s third season has been officially canceled.

Another Life would never be a hit with reviewers, earning a 6% Rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite being criticized for being trope-heavy and generally unsuccessful, the series acquired a great audience, thanks in part to Sackhoff’s participation.

Even with public support, the sitcom only received a 69% Fresh rating from viewers. Fans may be loud when a show they love is canceled, and many have already expressed their sorrow and sympathy in response to Sackhoff’s tweet. Niko Breckinridge, the captain of the experimental satellite expedition, is played by Katee Sackhoff. Sackhoff is no newcomer to science fiction, having originally played Lieutenant Kara “Starbuck” Thrace on the classic film Battlestar Galactica. Sackhoff has since featured on almost 24 seasons, as well as in the series Longmire and has a recurrent character on The Flash.

Erik Wallace, Niko’s scientific husband, is played by Justin Chatwin. Chatwin is most recognized for his role in Shameless as Jimmy (a.k.a. Steve). Prior to Shameless, he had a recurring part as Josh Wilson on Weeds, and he followed Shameless with the character of Jason Kellerman on Orphan Black. His latest regular television appearance was on CBS’s American Gothic.

Niko

Samuel Anderson plays William, the holographic A.I. who supports the Salvare’s crew. Anderson has been a regular on British television for many years, most notably as Danny on Doctor Who during Peter Capaldi’s era. He’s also been seen on Gavin & Stacey, Doctors, and Loaded.

Faith, Elizabeth Cas Isakovic, Niko’s second-in-command, is played by Ludlow. In 2015, Ludlow has his first recurring TV role on USA’s Satisfaction. She then portrayed Arat on AMC’s The Walking Dead from Seasons 7-9. She was most famously seen in Godzilla: King of Monsters as First Lieutenant Griffin.
