We witness the story around there, in the series that reflects the England of the 1893 period. Cora Seaborne is newly divorced and heading to Essex to start a new life for herself. It’s a bit difficult to make this decision because being a newly divorced person was not tolerated by society at the time, but Cora is a strong and self-developed woman and she doesn’t care about what is said about her.

But there is a problem in Essex! The village is very tense because it is rumored that the Essex Serpent, who has not appeared for years, has reappeared and has been spotted by some villagers. A normal person is afraid when such a situation occurs in the place he goes and wants to escape from there, right? In Cora, on the other hand, the situation is the opposite, she wants to know everything that happened before and now, and she starts researching the Essex Serpent.

While she is doing this, Will Ransome, the clergyman she met on the first day she went to Essex, helps her there. Will Ransome does not believe in the existence of such a creature and firmly adheres to the idea that the people are haunted by evil spirits. But Cora is an open-minded woman who sticks to science. These two have sweet discussions as they continue their research. They both quarrel and get closer. Finally, we witness the love story of these two opposing people.
