Sanditon Charlotte Heywood says the first book proposed to her was the book “Persuasion,” a work by Jane Austen. She read it and loved it. She has also listened to other adaptations of the show’s director but has heard 11 episodes of Sanditon over and over again. Rose Williams states that she researched Jane Austen and even resembled the character Charlotte.

What would you say to people who don’t think the show is true enough for Austen? is asked, and she says a new perspective is what Austen’s story needs to be adapted into a series. She answered this question by emphasizing that the narrative techniques she used in her time did not fit with the present time and had to change. She has been thinking Austen was a writer beyond time.
