The news is, the show creator Flanagan said that he is working on a new project. It is apparently a remake of Edgar Allan Poe’s renowned short story “The Fall of the House of Usher”. The story is rather old, its publishing dating back to 1839.

The amount of murder and chaos we have witnessed in the show cannot be emphasized enough. As you might have known, only two characters appeared to be alive at the end of season one.

Leeza Scarborough (Annarah Cymone) and Warren Flynn (Igby Rigney) had found shelter in a boat on the lake when Crockett Island was set on fire and its people were pulverized into ash as the sun dawned. So, logically, these two are the ones who could possibly return in Midnight Mass Season 2.

We also do not have any idea if the angel successfully avoided the sunlight. It was being sighted heading west, so we have two options for its future plans. The creature might backtrack to the island or locate a new feeding area on the mainland. Another rumor is that a brand new angel can join the show to create more destruction – if the current situation was not enough.

Flanagan is known for making familiar faces show up in different shows. You might have heard of Kate Siegel and Rahul Kohli, so you know what we mean. We think there is a good chance we can see those actors again in Season 2, but they will probably be playing different roles.

Also, beware of some new faces! Midnight Mass second season may have a totally new cast, possibly with tourists or other visitors to Crockett Island. We expect the new characters to have no idea about the deadly secrets of Crockett Island.

The theological precision is remarkable, and it is neither unintentional nor coincidental to the plot. The series actually originates from the very personal experiences of creator Mike Flanagan. Flanagan was raised a Roman Catholic and worked as an altar boy. Does it sound familiar? Uhm, the protagonist, Riley Flynn?

The show definitely ended on a very intriguing point and we have so many questions we want answers for. However, it does not look like there is much left for a second season to be aired.

Midnight Mass had some skillfully written characters and most of the mysteries were solved -we still have questions, though-. Also, most of the characters have a clear ending to their act. The series was only 7 episodes long, but it was wonderfully and brilliantly written.

Midnight Mass was shot in and around Vancouver. But the show takes place in a fictitious isolated Catholic village on Crockett Island. So we can say that the show mainly takes place on Crockett Island.
