Paramount+ has graced us with many new iCarly episodes and the series is without a doubt a breath of fresh air for sitcom lovers. If you’re a big fan of the legendary comedy series like us and are impatiently waiting for iCarly Season 3, keep scrolling to find out the release date of the upcoming season.

Is iCarly Coming Back in 2022?

Is iCarly Coming Back in 2022?

iCarly Season 3

Unfortunately, the answer to this question isn’t yet known. Paramount has yet to make an official announcement about iCarly Season 3. As you probably remember, the reboot series was renewed for a 2nd season even before the first season ended. However, even though the season finale aired on June 3, 2022, there’s no word from the network or showrunner Dan Schneider.

However, we think there’s still plenty of time to announce a renewal, so we don’t think iCarly will be canceled. Besides, iCarly Season 2 ended with a big cliffhanger, and we believe that the series still has so many stories to tell. But, we don’t know for sure if iCarly is coming back in 2022. We believe Season 3 would hit the streaming platform in the first months of 2023.

iCarly Sam

Miranda Cosgrove, Jerry Trainor and Nathan Kress reprise their roles as Carly, Spencer and Freddie in the 2007 remake of the Nickelodeon TV series of the same name. However, Sam Puckett (played by Jennette McCurdy), one of the main characters in iCarly who’s one of Carly’s best friends and co-host of iCarly, doesn’t appear in the iCarly reboot. But why is Sam not in the new iCarly?

Why Is Sam Not in The New iCarly?

Jennette McCurdy

We got an explanation for Sam’s absence in the first season premiere, when Carly was thinking about getting back in the web hosting game, but didn’t have a partner yet. In her conversation with Freddie, she revealed that Sam was “is off following her bliss with that biker gang.” Die-hard iCarly fans will remember that she bought a motorcycle in the original series finale. So her story continues in the reboot and she’s out with a biker gang.

But there’s another reason why Sam isn’t in the new iCarly, and that’s the actress who played the character: Jennette McCurdy. In Anna Faris’ podcast titled Empty Inside, she revealed that she quit acting because she’s ashamed of the things she did in the past and because she dislikes her career.

Sam and Carly

Now that Sam is no longer in the new iCarly series, you’re probably wondering if Sam and Carly are still friends. Well, yes! The two are still friends. Their friendship began in the original iCarly series in 2007, and they’ve remained in each other’s lives ever since. Jerry Trainor, the actress who plays Carly in the series, even stated that she always wanted McCurdy to return to the new iCarly, but she’s happy that McCurdy is doing other things and happy with it. Moreover, McCurdy said that the iCarly actors were like family to her and she’s friends with each of them.

And not only the actors who play Sam and Carly, but also Sam and Carly in the series are still friends. Even though Sam is gone now, she’s still one of Carly’s best friends and her favorite partner in the web hosting game.
