Resident Evil has delighted us for many years, both with the fantastic game series and the legendary, unforgettable movie series. And now, thanks to Geeked Week 2022, we finally have the latest news about the first live-action TV series adaptation of the popular action game and movie series, from Netflix. Ladies and gentlemen, here’s the Resident Evil news, along with Resident Evil Netflix actress Ella Balinska interview, which took place on the 5th day of Geeked Week 2022. Let’s dive in!
Resident Evil Netflix
On Day 1 of Geeked Week 2022, Netflix released the official trailer for Resident Evil. The series will feature numerous monsters from the first game and a monster that appears to be the Dictator. Also, the streaming giant has revealed to us the official release date for Resident Evil. Hold on to your hats… Resident Evil will premiere on July 14! We’re already counting down the days impatiently.

The all-new Resident Evil series will revolve around an outbreak that uncovers the secrets of the Umbrella Corporation, nearly three decades after the discovery of the T-virus. The first season of the highly anticipated series will consist of 8 episodes, all 60 minutes long. It stars Ella Balinska, Tetiana Gaidar, Lance Reddick, Connor Gosatti and many more.

The last day of Netflix’s Geeked Week 2022 had it all! The day was Games themed and featured a Games Showcase, The Cuphead Show! table read and a great interview with Ella Balinska, the lead actress in the upcoming Netflix series Resident Evil.
Balinska began by talking about her role in the series Resident Evil, saying, “I play the character Jade Wesker, the daughter of Albert Wesker. She’s is not a superhero she’s a scientist. She’s a survivor trying to make her way through the zombie apocalypse and find a cure for the T-virus.” She went on to talk about the character of Albert Wesker, saying that he’s a game classic.
Forspoken
Later in the interview, the interviewer also asked the successful actress about the other project she recently participated in, which is currently in post-production. It’s the video game Forspoken, in which Balinska voices the role of the character Frey Holland, whose story is followed through the game. Forspoken is set in the land of Athia, where Frey awakens and embarks on an adventure to uncover the mystery of the land. The actress announced the good news that “the upcoming game will land on October 11 on PC and PlayStation.”
What we learned in the interview is that Ella Balinska is a fan of games! She’s played the Resident Evil games and loves them very much. She also played a game with the interviewer at Netflix’s Geeked Week Summer Gathering!

Resident Evil is the first film adaptation of Capcom’s Japanese video game series of the same name. The movie premiered in 2002 and the outstanding actress Milla Jovovich became iconic with her role as Alice in the movie.
Resident Evil: Apocalypse is the sequel to Resident Evil, which was released in theaters in 2004.
The third film in the series, Resident Evil: Extinction, was released in 2007.
The other films in the Resident Evil series are, in order, Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010), Resident Evil: Retribution (2012) and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016).
In addition, a reboot movie titled Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City was made in 2021.
