Potterheads around the globe are excited for the upcoming release of Fantastic Beasts 3, as the franchise works as a prequel to the Harry Potter movies. Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, the first movie of the Fantastic Beasts series, was released in 2016 and despite getting mixed reviews, the movie was still an amazing experience for Harry Potter fans who missed seeing the Wizarding World and many important figures within.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, the second movie of the franchise, was in theatres in November 2018. Now the third movie of the series, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, is coming soon. Currently, there are two movies of Fantastic Beasts which you can watch through online platforms. The first two movies, which we mentioned above, were released in 2016 and 2018 consecutively. The third movie is coming this year to theatres. However, this is not it! There will be two other movies whose titles and release dates are yet to be revealed. Here is a list of Fantastic Beasts movies in order:

• Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald: Released in theatres in November 2018.

Fantastic Beasts 3 release date

The exact release date of Fantastic Beasts 3 is the 8th of April for the U.K. and Ireland and the 15th of April for the U.S. The film is also going to be available at HBO Max 45 days after its theatrical release.

The movie was actually supposed to be released in November 2021 but a few factors hindered the release of the movie. One of these factors is, of course, the Covid-19 pandemic which caused production delays. The second, and another important factor, was the resignation of Johnny Depp who revealed in a statement that Warner Bros kindly had asked him to resign after he had lost his libel case related to the abuse allegations of his former wife, Amber Heard.

After Depp’s resignation, the movie’s release date was pushed to July 2022 and he was replaced by Mads Mikkelsen to play the same role, Gellert Grindelwald.

What will Fantastic Beasts 3 be about?

In the previous movies, we saw the tension between Dumbledore (Jude Law) and Grindelwald grow bigger and bigger since it was Grindelwald’s intention to seize control of the Wizarding World. However, Dumbledore did not want to face Grindelwald because of a blood pact that prevented him from doing so. In this movie, we will see Dumbledore struggling with his decision to fight against Grindelwald, as he is getting stronger than ever, especially with the army of followers he put together.

So, Dumbledore will send Newt (Eddie Redmayne) and his friends on a mission to take down Grindelwald’s army. The mission will take them to different countries, including Great Britain, the United States of America, China, Germany, and Bhutan. Of course, we will be encountering witches, wizards, and more fantastic beasts!

Is Credence Dumbledore’s brother?

After Grindelwald claimed at the end of the second movie that Credence (Ezra Miller) was Dumbledore’s brother, most Harry Potter fans were confused as this claim came out of nowhere. Now, everyone is wondering if this is actually true and if it is true, how is it possible? There are multiple reasons as to why this cannot be true.

First of all, Grindelwald is not a character to be trusted because, throughout the second movie, we see him lie to Credence more than a few times. For example, he says to Credence that he wants to help him learn wizardry just to locate the Obscurial. However, he just lies in order to obtain his goal. Another lie Grindelwald tells is saying that Dumbledore wants Credence dead but as far as the audience knows, Dumbledore does not even know who Credence is.

The second, and the most crucial, reason that suggests Credence is not Dumbledore’s brother is Credence’s age. In the second movie, which passed in 1927, Credence is at the age of 19 (according to the actor playing him). However, Harry Potter fans know that Dumbledore’s father was sent to Azkaban in 1891 where we do not think his wife was able to do a conjugal visit. So, if Credence is really Dumbledore’s brother, he must have been at the age of 36 which he is not.

Even if we assume that Credence is Dumbledore’s half-brother and that Dumbledore’s mother maybe had an affair with someone, Credence still has to be at least 28 in 1927 because Dumbledore’s mother died in a tragic accident in 1899.

Against all of these reasons, if Credence is really Dumbledore’s brother, then J. K. Rowling has to explain clearly how this actually works. Even if there is an explanation for all of this, it would be a disruption of the carefully established Harry Potter universe just for the sake of a plot twist.

Will there be a Fantastic Beasts 4?

Yes, as we mentioned above, there is going to be A Fantastic Beasts 4 and 5 but we still do not know their official names or plots. The release dates are not known as well. However, it can be assumed that the fourth movie will probably be here in 2023 or 2024 and the fifth movie will be here in 2025 or 2026.
