Wall-E is an amazing animated movie produced by the collaboration of Disney and Pixar studios. When Wall-E was released in 2008, it was made with a budget of $180 million and grossed a total of $521.3 million. This great success was the beginning of some things in the animation world.
First of all, Wall-E’s story was interesting. Humans have left the trashed world and left behind a robot called Wall-E. Wall-E is a garbage collector robot. So where did people go? To space! People living on a spaceship called Axiom are a little different from what we know. They sleep all the time and are dependent on machines. The machines feed them, they don’t have to do anything. That’s why they’re a little fat and weak.
The story begins with Wall-E’s path crossing with Axiom. The fate of these people, who cannot even follow what is happening around them, changes thanks to Wall-E. Wall-E has a story that represents many things for humanity and makes us think about our future. So is this the only reason why this animated movie is so popular?

Is WALL-E based on the Bible?
One of the reasons Wall-E is so popular is because it’s an absolutely thought-provoking movie. Like most Pixar-made films, Wall-E is one of those animations that appeals to both children and adults intellectually. When it comes to the core of the Wall-E story, one of the considerations is the Bible. So how did the Wall-E movie become associated with the Bible?
Wall-E is seen as relatable to many biblical stories, but the obvious one is Adam and Eve. Wall-E is a robot who is alone in the world and suddenly a female robot comes to the world. It’s no coincidence that this female robot’s name is Eve! Wall-E writer Andrew Stanton said that he compared the Wall-E robot to Adam. Alone in the world and seeking companionship, Wall-E has finally found his own Eve.
However, the story of Adam and Eve in Wall-E does not stop there. A female robot named Eve, programmed to search for plant life on Earth, finds a plant sprout. This plant is a symbol of the tree of knowledge. Eve takes the plant to Axiom. People living in space fight each other to go to Earth, thinking of making the world a livable place again. At this point in the story, the descent from heaven to earth as a result of having knowledge seems to be symbolized. People went to earth from the heavenly spaceship, where they lived quite comfortably.
Another point that this animated movie resonates with the Bible is that Wall-E and Eve exhibit behaviors that they should not do by opposing their programming. For example, Wall-E, which is programmed to collect and compress the world’s garbage into cubes, is in love with Eve and chases after her. This is a sign of defiance and free will to the creator.
Looking at the biblical themes in Wall-E, it can be said that this animated movie turns evil into good by adding a slightly different interpretation to the sacred story it inspired. It is good to benefit from the tree of knowledge and to have the knowledge, to discover free will in the movie Wall-E. Blind obedience isn’t portrayed as such a good thing in Wall-E.
Axiom’s autopilot refuses to go to Earth in the movie because it was ordered not to take humans to Earth. Despite seeing the plant, it did not give up its obedience, and in this case it was not a logical choice.
What is the deeper meaning behind WALL-E?
The Wall-E animated movie is definitely a thought-provoking movie. Other than that, there are deep meanings for everyone to see and there is really a lot to learn from this movie. In 2008, when Wall-E was released, we were unaware of much of what was going on in the world. Wall-E had pointed out the world problem that is on our agenda today, years ago.
Wall-E primarily delivers great messages on environmentalism. If we do not protect our plants, the world will be an unlivable place, if there are no plants left in the world, we cannot live in the world. We need trees. We love the marble floors and giant skyscrapers in the metropolis, but they are not what we really need.
So what was it that affected the environment so badly? Mass consumption. This is still a big problem right now. However, this problem was addressed by Wall-E in 2008. This movie is very important because it is the kind of movie that appeals to the new generation and shows environmentalism to children and young people by giving such messages. But that’s not Wall-E’s only message.
Another message Wall-E has given us in the past is that we need to pay attention to how technology is used. What happens to their bodies and minds when people become overly dependent on technology and become lazy because of technology? Wall-E showed us how much human perceptions can be closed and even the human body can be changed due to technology. Today, many of us have a curvature in our neck that shouldn’t be there because we stare down at our phones. Oh Wall-E! He’s a real seer.
There are things that the movie Wall-E scares us as much as it teaches us. How can our lives change with the introduction of technology into our lives? For example, can babies be raised by machines? When people turn the world into a garbage dump and go to space, will they be able to take other living things on earth with them? Will the garbage we throw without knowing where it is going turn into garbage skyscrapers one day? This movie really hit us with a lot of truth about humanity and the world.
Why did WALL-E sacrifice himself?
One of the most important things we learned from the robot Wall-E in the movie Wall-E is to be good. So good, enough to sacrifice himself for more important things. Wall-E is an example to all with his character and moral conduct. However, being this good and making such right decisions sometimes require sacrifice rather than selfishness. The robot named Wall-E sacrificed himself by being crushed to save the people and the plant.
Wall-E also gave us a message at this point. The life of our planet is more precious than the life of each of us. Our planet has been home to a variety of species for millions of years. We cannot risk the lives of other creatures by invading this house now. We do not have the right to destroy our planet for our own pleasure and comfort. Wall-E has shown what an honorable character he has by sacrificing his life for the only plant on the planet.
