For the past two years, we have waited patiently and desperately for our most beloved historical romance show to continue. Yes, you guessed it right. We are referring no other than Bridgerton and its highly expected Bridgerton Season 2.

The show received immense attention globally as soon as it was released since it was a completely different take on the well-known tropes. For instance, it was taking place in the 19th century England but it was also lacking the wholesome nature of the era. The show was also focusing on the high society of the era but somehow managing to be diverse in its ethnic spectrum as well, since it was taking place in a racism-free universe – which would have been just amazing. As you can see, the series did not have any trouble in twisting all of our expectations from a traditional historical romance and naturally has become a complete favorite within mere seconds.

The show is based on a novel series of Julia Quinn. Quinn is a well-known auther who was listed on the New York Times Bestsellers list for 19 times. Even though she has a lot of books, her Bridgerton series is the one that received much appreciation. The series got translated into more than 40 languages globally, and made Quinn one of the most beloved romance authors of our age. She has been writing the Bridgerton novels since 2000. The series has 8 books and some novellas, meaning that the TV show has a lot to adapt.

Apart from having Bridgerton Season 2, we also got the confirmations on Bridgerton Season 3 and Season 4, as Netflix has no intention of leaving such a popular series behind. That also shows that there is a high chance that Quinn’s all Bridgerton novels will get a TV adaptation, which we cannot wait to watch. But, before that, let’s see what has happened in Bridgerton Season 2.

Bridgerton Season 2 Cast

To understand Bridgerton Season 2, we have to first take a look at the brilliant cast of the show. The first name that takes our attention is, of course, Jonathan Bailey, who was playing the part of Anthony Bridgerton. As the eldest brother of the Bridgertons, Anthony was looking for a proper wife for himself but his confused mind and heart were always getting in the way. The real-life actor, however, is a man who is very sure of himself as his successful career proves to us. He has been in multiple acclaimed shows so far, including Crashing, Broadchurch and Jack Ryan.

Another name is Simone Ashley, who was playing the part of Kate Sharma. Ashley is a 26 years old British actress who has been in the entertainment sector for a while now. Her most well known shows so far are Sex Education, The Sister and Broadchurch. Her character Kate is a devoted big sister who is determined to make her sister marry while remaining single herself. As you can expect, meeting Anthony changes everything within seconds.

Kate’s sister, Edwina, is played by the 25 years old Bristish actress Charithra Chandran, who is a newcomer to the sector. As an Oxford graduate, acting was not at the top of Chandran’s list of what to do with her life. However, once the lockdown has hit, she found herself looking for gigs in the acting business, which paid off perfectly. Her character Edwina is very fond of her sister and do not hesitate to make sacrifices for her when needed.

Other actors in the show are Shelley Conn as Mary Sharma, Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington, Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury, and Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte.
