We hope you are having an amazing day today. For us, it’s been a blessed one since we just welcomed the Bridgerton Season 2 and we cannot believe the two-year-long waiting process has come to an end with an amazing Bridgerton Season 2 cast. The show is following the men of the Bridgerton family in their search for a spouse, which is not an easy task. The show is taking place in a 19th century setting with a major twist: it has no historical accuracy.
In other words, when watching the show, you have to leave almost all of your presumptions about the era behind and then dive into the Bridgerton universe since the series can even be categorized as a fantastic one at this point. Okay, labeling it as fantastic might be a little bit harsh, but let’s accept the fact that the show is beyond unrealistic.
Bridgerton Julia Quinn Books
It is purely out of the imagination of someone who is strictly focused on having pleasure in life. That someone is Julia Quinn who is the author of the Bridgerton novel series of 8 books. Her books changed the look of the historical romance completely as she took the men in focus while still highlighting the feelings of the female protagonist very thoroughly. Her books are translated into more than 40 languages and have been listed as New York Times bestsellers for almost 20 times. So, as you can see, she was already very successful even before the Netflix show has aired.
The Duke and I Bridgerton
But, the release of the TV show has changed everything as her books and stories have turned into a global sensation. Suddenly, we couldn’t stop talking about the Duke and the Bridgerton and the lovely atmosphere they all live in. And yet, unlike many other shows, Bridgerton is not following the same set of characters at all times. Instead, each book is focusing on one Bridgerton brother and follows their love life. Naturally, each season of the show has a different love story at its focus. Therefore, the casting of the series is constantly changing and we love to see a lot of young and talented actors taking the stage to play those exquisite characters.
Bridgerton Season 2 Cast
The Bridgerton Season 2 cast has two sisters as the main female protagonists. Yes, we know that it sounds kinda complicating and even disturbing. Believe us, it was disturbing to see two sisters competing for one man. Still, we believe the show has managed to portray it in the least annoying way possible. And in our opinion, the performance of the actresses has a huge part in that.
One of those actresses was Simone Ashley. 26 years old British actress is known for her starring in Sex Education, The Sister, Casualty, and Broadchurch. Now that she has Bridgerton in her resume, we are likely to see her more in the future. Her character on the show, Kate, is obsessed with finding a proper groom for her sister Edwina but she fails to fulfill her dream as she falls in love with the man her sister was supposed to marry.
The other sister in Bridgerton Season 2 cast, Edwina, was played by Charithra Chandran is also a British actress who does not have much experience in the acting department. She is an Oxford graduate who studied politics and economics there and her dream was to be a white-collar manager rather than an actress.
But, destiny and also the pandemic intervened and lead her to become an actress. The lead man of the Bridgerton Season 2 cast is Jonathan Bailey. Bailey is a well-known British actor whose most beloved projects can be listed as Broadchurch, Jack Ryan, and Crashing. He is playing the part of Anthony Bridgerton who is the oldest one of the siblings and in a desperate search for a wife. Unfortunately, though, he is a very confused man and often fails to act upon his true feelings. Other cast members of the Bridgerton Season 2 cast can be listed as Shelley Conn as Mary Sharma, Nicola Coughlan as Penelope Featherington, Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury, and Golda Rosheuvel as Queen Charlotte.
