Jessica Biel is an American actress and model. She was born on March 3, 1982, to a homemaker and spiritual healer mother Kimberley, and a business consultant and a worker father Jonathan. She discovered that her paternal great-grandfather was the son of Hungarian-Jewish immigrants through the show “Who Do You Think You Are?”. Growing up, Biel played soccer and was a level six gymnast.
At first, Biel started her professional career as a vocalist. She appeared in several musical productions until her first TV series “7th Heaven”. With this, she received her big recognition. Jessica Biel has been married to Justin Timberlake and they share 2 children. Her success on the big screen came with her role in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, even though the film got negative reviews. After that, the actress starred in various movies and TV shows. 1. Candy
The story behind this series is a true and gruesome one. In 1980s Texas, Candy Montgomery was involved with a man named Allan. Then, she was accused of murdering the wife of Alan, Betty Gore. It’s a limited series created by Nick Antosca and Robin Veith.
Jessica Biel completely transformed for the role, starring alongside Melanie Lynskey and Pablo Schreiber. Although Biel never heard of the story before as soon as she got the script she was hooked! And it’s safe to say that this shows up on the screen. The telling of the story gives you a broader view, setting up years of personal story that serves as a context for the trial. While doing so, it keeps Betty as a continued presence rather than her disappearing. It is safe to say that Jessica Biel gave one of her best performances in Candy. 2. The Sinner
The Sinner tells the story of a young mother who commits an act of violence, and she has no idea why. As the story progresses the investigator finds himself obsessed with uncovering the “why” of the crime.
When asked about it, Jessica Biel said that after reading the book, her theories about the protagonist were wrong. So, she had to play her! With this role, the audience gets to see Biel from a whole new side. She’s so raw and so emotional in this role, you can’t help but feel sorry for the actual killer. The Sinner ran for 4 seasons, and you can catch all episodes on Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video.
3. 7th Heaven
At the center of the series, we have Reverend Eric Camden, father of seven children. Except for Lucy, all the children are named after biblical figures. Throughout the show, the Camden family becomes a shelter for various guests. We see the life of a family and their children as they grow up and experience life.
The show ran for 11 years, and Jessica Biel was a big part of it. She was Mary Camden, the second oldest daughter of the family. After season 6, Biel only appeared in one or two episodes in the remaining of the show. With this role, she rose to fame and got huge success. When asked about her experience on the show Jessica Biel says that being so young and having a contract on a show like that had its limitations. Sometimes it was hard to comprehend. Although she sometimes had a hard time on the show, her character was loved.
4. I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry
Two veteran firefighters, Larry and Chuck are making a sweep of a burned building when a segment of floor collapses on Chuck. Larry saves his life and Chuck makes a vow to repay Larry in any way. Chuck is a “womanizer” and a bachelor, while Larry is a widower who’s struggling to raise his two children. After the incident, Larry decides to increase his life insurance policy to give a better future for his children.
To sort out the lapse in his paperwork, the insurance company suggests to Larry to find a new spouse! The lawyer who will help Chuck and Larry to become a couple is Jessica Biel as Alex McDonough. The movie itself is a joy to watch and Biel’s performance just adds to it. Her character is a smart lawyer, who helps LGBTQ+ people to defend themselves.

5. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003
Five young adults who are on their way to a concert driving through Texas pick up a hitchhiker on the road. She looks severely traumatized and distraught. As they try to talk to her to find out what exactly happened, she pulls out a gun from between her legs and shoots herself. The group tries to find an official to report the incident. Instead, they find themselves as the new target of a deranged family who tries to hunt them down one by one.
At this point in her career, Biel already established a career as an actress. However, this movie catapulted her to a new type of fame and shaped her future roles. Even though the movie was not a huge success, her character and her performance were pretty catchy!
6. Blade: Trinity
This is the 3rd and final installment in the Blade trilogy. A group of vampires investigates a tomb that they believe is Dracula’s tomb. They want to keep Blade from interfering, so they frame him for murder. FBI gets involved and kills his mentor and friend. Blade surrenders and gets arrested. Abigail Whistler, daughter of Blade’s mentor, helps with strong fighting abilities.
Abigail is portrayed by Jessica Biel. She’s a closed-off person, who is very strong and feels the need to avenge her family. She experienced a lot of deaths at the hands of vampires. The film did not get good critiques. Biel’s performance got her roles for other projects but, this was not one of her good choices in her career.
7. The Illusionist
Late 19th century in Vienna, an illusionist Eisenheim is arrested by Chief Inspector Walter Uhl. Before that, as he performs his show, he is reunited with her former lover Sophie. Although they haven’t seen each other in 15 years, it doesn’t take them long to remember their bond. However, after their doomed romance, Duchess Sophie is now due to wed Crown Prince Leopold. Thus begins the war between two men who care for the same woman.
It is a love story centering on Jessica Biel. She puts out a very touching performance. Because the movie came out the same year as the Prestige, people often compare the two. Claiming one is better than the other.
8. Easy Virtue
It’s a British romantic comedy centering on the Whittaker family. The Whittaker estate is sinking between world wars, the only thing that keeps them from bankruptcy is the iron will of Mrs. Veronica Whittaker waiting for the return of her son. But to her dismay, her son returns with a bride, who is an American widow racing cars. Soon, it’s a war between mother and bride!
The film got mixed and mostly negative reviews. The casting of Biel was praised, but the movie was anachronistic, witless, and lacking in style along with period sense.
