As with the other reality series, we know that some people are wondering if what’s going on in the show is real or what percentage of it is actually based on real-life events. Viewers are probably curious about the Selling Sunset filming locations as well which are usually in California. We are here to delve into the filming locations of the series and see the areas where you can visit. Let’s see if we can also answer some of your wider questions and doubts about the show as well.
Where is the Oppenheim Group Based?
The location, where the main events of the series take place, is the office of the Oppenheim Group, which is located in West Hollywood, at 8606 Sunset Blvd. The group also has an office in Newport Beach but there isn’t really a lot of filming going on there. The main office in West Hollywood is filled with authentic pieces of art and architecture from all over the world, including a Parisian clock from the 1830s and European antique books.
Of course, the show had other filming locations this season, some of which were restaurants or cafes. One of them is an ice cream shop called Holy Roly Ice Cream where Vanessa and Nicholas had a talk about their relationship. The shop has branches in various locations but the couple went to the one at Melrose Ave, Los Angeles.
Another filming location of Selling Sunset Season 5 was Fig & Olive restaurant in Newport Beach. Heather holds her bridal shower here but unfortunately, this branch of Fig & Olive is currently closed down.
The other Selling Sunset filming locations included Manhattan Beach, Stone Street Coffee Company (on Melrose Ave), Sagrado Mezcaleria + Kitchen (on Glendale Blvd, Los Angeles), Tesse Restaurant (Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood), Beauty and Essex (Cahuenga Blvd, Los Angeles), E.P. & L.P. (West Hollywood), N10 Restaurant (Los Angeles), Ryan & Walter (Robertson Blvd, Los Angeles), and The Rosewood Miramar Hotel (Montecito, CA).

Is Selling Sunset Based on a True Story?
Is the show based on a true story? Are the lives of the brokers really that glamorous and dramatic? Is the show scripted or real? It turns out the show is not scripted and is actually based on real people with real lives. So, these people do the same job, in the same offices and places, in real life as well. One thing that is the product of the show would be the amplified drama that goes on at certain points of the show. And some of the cast members said that through editing some of the events are a little exaggerated and that’s all.
Do they get paid on Selling Sunset?
The realtors of the Oppenheim group do not receive any salary from the O Group, meaning they only receive a commission from the sales they make. The amount of commission is usually 3%, which amounts to an at least 6-figure-rate considering the houses that are sold on the show are usually worth millions.
Not only that, but the ladies of the O Group also became celebrities thanks to the show and now have huge numbers of Instagram followers. This means they can also earn money through Instagram.
