Wreck-It Ralph is a 2012 computer-animated comedy film series from Disney. Ralph Breaks the internet, the sequel, hit theaters in 2018, and fans are already eagerly awaiting the 3rd installment. Since most of the Wreck It Ralph characters are taken from or based on well-known arcade games, they’ve received a lot of attention since the release of the movie. Wreck-It Ralph, the villain of the fictional arcade game Fix-It Felix Jr. who desires to be a hero, is the main character of the film.
Vanellope von Schweetz
Vanellope von Schweetz is a racer and a glitch in Sugar Rush. She’s 12 years old. Taffyta Muttonfudge bullied her for talking back and going almost too far from time to time. Vanellope never had a true friend before she eventually befriended Ralph.
The character was voiced by 51-year-old actress and comedian Sarah Silverman, known for her roles in films such as School of Rock (2003), I Smile Back (2015) and The Book of Henry (2017). Also, she produced and starred in The Sarah Silverman Program, for which she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award.
Fix-It Felix Jr.
Fix-It Felix Jr. is a 30-year-old character who’s the star of the classic arcade game of the same name in Wreck-It Ralph and its sequel. The game is set in Niceland, where Felix must save an apartment from being destroyed by his “nemesis” Wreck-It Ralph. Felix has the ability to fix anything with his magic hammer.
The talented 48-year-old actor and comedian Jack McBrayer did the voice of Fix-It Felix Jr. in the film.
As one of the main characters in the film, Sergeant Tamora Jean Calhoun is the non-playable protagonist of the first-person shooter game Hero’s Duty, who’s in her 30s. Her job is to fight off monsters known as Cy-Bugs. Calhoun has a tragic backstory about Cy-Bugs. On the day of her wedding to Dr. Brad Scott, a Cy-Bug broke into the chapel and killed Scott because Calhoun didn’t bother with security checks.
The 61-year-old actress Jane Lynch voiced the character of Sergeant Calhoun. Lynch is best known for her performances in the TV series Glee, Criminal Minds and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. She lent her voice in several other animated films such as Shrek Forever After, Rio and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.
King Candy is the main antagonist in the Wreck-It Ralph movie series. He’s 30 years old and is the ruler of Sugar Rush. Later it turned out that his real name is Turbo. He’s a selfish character who attracts people’s attention and power by jumping into other games and taking control of them. Eventually, he took control of Sugar Rush by reprogramming the universe in his image and making himself the ruler.
King Candy’s vocal style is modeled after the role of the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland, while his physical features are based on Wynn’s character of the Mad Hatter.
The character was voiced by the gifted actor Alan Tudyk, who’s also the voice of the Joker and Clayface in the DC Universe series Harley Quinn.
Tafyta Muttonfudge is another racer in Sugar Rush. She’s 9 years old. Taffyta is the arch-enemy of Vanellope von Schweetz and considers her a mistake. That’s why she bullies her every chance she gets.
Taffyta was voiced by 42-year-old actress Mindy Kaling, who’s best known for her role as Kelly Kapoor in The Office. Kaling also lent her voice in other animated films such as Inside Out (as Disgust ) and Despicable Me 2 (as a tourist mother).
Zangief is a wrestler character in the Wreck-It Ralph film series, originally from Street Fighter II and is part of Bad-Anon, a villain support group, along with M. Bison. He’s from Russia and is said to be 65 years old.
Zangief was voiced by noted animation director and voice actor Rich Moore, who also directed the Wreck-It Ralph film series. Moore has worked on notable animated films such as Frozen, Tangled and Big Hero 6.
