Netflix’s hit teen drama Elite eventually arrived with its 5th season on April 8, 2022, and we couldn’t help ourselves from racing through it. We were very excited about what would happen in the 5th season, especially between Carla and Samuel, after the 4th season finale ended on such a massive cliffhanger. Despite the fact that we all wanted the couple to end up together, their rocky relationship is on shaky ground due to the jaw-dropping incidents that took place in the 5th season. Who is Elite Carla?

Carla Caleruega is one of the main characters in Netflix’s Elite. Her father is a businessman, and her mother is a member of the Spanish aristocracy, thus she comes from a noble and wealthy family. One day, Carla will be the Marquesado de Caleruega’s future marchioness. She is beautiful and attractive, which is why she uses her physical attractiveness to control and manipulate others. She is a little self-centered and expects everything to go her way. Nonetheless, she is also loyal to her family and cares about their well-being.

Yeray, Christian, and Polo are the ones Carla had romantic relationships with, apart from Samuel. She began her relationship with Polo when she was only 12, but then they decided to remain friends. Then she established a relationship with Yeray, only to save his father from financial ruin. As to Christian, Carla enjoys being around him and having sex with him, but she is not in love with him.

Elite Carla is played by the 22-year-old Spanish actress Ester Expósito. She appeared in the films When Angels Sleep, Your Son, and You Keep the Kids! Although she is best known by the general public for her performance in Elite, she also appeared in several other TV shows such as Estoy Vivo, Veneno, and Someone Has to Die.

Another main character in Elite is Samuel García Domínguez, also known as Samu. He is a Las Encinas scholarship student who rose to the lead role in the 2nd and 3rd seasons.

Despite his friendliness, Samuel is an introverted person. When someone offends him, he quickly becomes aggressive. Throughout the series, he had several partners in addition to Carla. When he first transferred to Las Encinas, he met Marina, but things didn’t work out when Marina planned to run with Nano and was killed shortly after. Samuel also had a relationship with Rebeca, who ended it after learning of Samuel’s betrayal.

Elite Samuel is played by the Spanish actor Itzan Escamilla. The 24-year-old, handsome actor is best known for his performance in Elite. However, he also appeared in films such as Sies Hermanas, El Ministerio del Tiempo, and Cable Girls.

When Samuel was investigating Marina’s death in Season 2, Carla and Samuel grew closer. At first, he suspected Carla of being involved in the murder as well. They developed into a sexual relationship after that. The couple’s relationship was rocky from the start, and they broke up at the end of Season 2. In Season 3, Samuel tries to break the ice with her, but Carla remains hesitant. Furthermore, in order to rescue her family and keep away Samuel, she begins dating Yeray. Regardless of how hard Carla and Samuel try to deny it, we all know they love each other.

Carla eventually breaks up with Yeray in the season finale. She and Samuel then meet in a bar. Carla is about to confess her love to Samuel when Polo walks into the bar and interrupts her. Carla tells Samuel at the end of the 3rd season that she is going to study abroad, and then comes one of Elite‘s most heartbreaking scenes. The couple gives hugs to each other, and Carla kisses Samuel on the cheek before saying their goodbyes.

In Elite Short Stories: Carla Samuel, Samuel goes to the airport after Carla to convince her not to go to London to study. The couple goes to Samuel’s place and has sex. They spend a week together, but all good things must end at some point. Carla leaves the apartment after leaving an emotional message for Samuel, saying that they are not meant to be together.

Elite Season 5

Despite the couple’s ups and downs, there was still a glimmer of hope that they could reconcile. However, the shocking ending of Elite Season 5 left us disappointed in Carla and Samuel’s love story. When the tension between Benjamin and Samuel rises, the two meet at Benjamin’s house, where Benjamin attacks Samuel and throws him into the pool after cracking his head on the pool’s side.

This is the scene in which we learn that the dead body we saw in the 1st episode is Samuel’s. Keeping that in mind, it’s rumored that Itzan Escamilla will not be returning for Season 6. So, we hate to break it to the fans, but it seems that Carla and Samuel won’t end up together.
