Is Yellowstone Worth Watching?
Yellowstone has been catching the attention of TV followers since it premiered in 2018. As mentioned earlier, the series is a western drama that follows a ranch-owning family in Montana. The series has received generally positive reviews from critics and viewers so far. On IMDb, the series has a rating of 8.7 – which is great. So, we can say that most of the viewers liked the series.
The series stars not only popular and talented actors like Gil Birmingham, Kelsey Asbille, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Ian Bohen and Luke Grimes, but also a big name from Hollywood – you know who: one of the greatest Western actors Kevin Costner! He’s definitely one of the reasons why people love Yellowstone and follow it with so much attention. The actor has been praised for his role as John Dutton, the widowed patriarch of the Dutton family and owner of the Dutton Ranch. As the series progresses, we see Dutton challenged by those who want to take control of the ranch land.
Speaking of ranch land, Yellowstone is also about protecting its territory at all costs. Throughout the series, we see how the Duttons try to protect their land and family from everything and everyone. John Dutton is the sixth-generation operator of the Dutton Ranch, which shows that his ancestors inhabited the land many years ago and were able to protect it from outsiders. Therefore, it’s now his duty to preserve the tradition and protect the land.
Another theme in Yellowstone by Paramount is relationships. Since it’s a family drama, the series shows the internal relationships, conflicts and tragedies that the Dutton family experiences over time, and also highlights the family’s relationships with other people, such as the Indians who live on the Broken Rock Indian Reservation. Therefore, it’s safe to say that Yellowstone might be a good choice for you if you like westerns and family dramas!
