One of the latest Pixar movies was the animated comedy Turning Red, released in theatres in February. The movie is about a young Chinese-Canadian girl called Mei, who transforms into a giant red panda when she is embarrassed or experiencing moments of high emotions. Her mother Ming, voiced by Sanda Oh, a star of the recent Netflix series The Chair, is very protective and strict and at most times she is the one making her daughter nervous.
The movie currently has a 7.1 IMDB score, voted by 74K viewers, and has a 94% of rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film attracted some viewers with its voice cast that included Sanda Oh and recently famous Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, our Devi from Never Have I Ever.

Sandra Oh (50) voices Ming, Mei’s strict and overprotective mother who embarrasses her daughter multiple times. We know Sandra Oh from infamous shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Killing Eve, and lately The Chair. Sandra Oh was married to Alexander Payne, a US filmmaker, from 2003 to 2006. After that, Sandra Oh has been in a relationship with Russian photographer Lev Rukhin, we don’t know when they started dating. According to various reports, the couple is still together and wants to keep their relationship private.

Addie Chandler whose exact age is not known but most probably one between 15-18, is another Turning Red cast member. He voices Devon, Mei’s secret crush who also works as a clerk in a local convenience store. He is known as the voice of Otto/Notto Prince in Barbie: Dreamtopia and also as the voice of 3 different characters in the animated tv series Harvey Beaks.
James Hong
James Hong is the voice of Mr. Gao
James Hong (93) is the voice of Mr. Gao, a local shaman who is friends with Mei’s family. James Hong appeared in more than 600 films and tv shows since 1950. The actor has been married 2 times. The 1st one was to Pearl Huang from 1967 to 1973. The 2nd one is to Susan Hong, which continues today since 1977.
Wai Ching Ho

The last member of the Turning Red cast that we are going to be seeing is Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who plays Priya, one of Mei’s best friends.
