But, of course, all eyes are on Henry Cavill’s flagship program, and not only because Geralt is attractive. The good news is that, before season 2 even premiered, Netflix revealed that Witcher season 3 is also on the way.
The announcement was made during Netflix’s TUDUM event in September 2021, but now that some time has gone, there is a lot more information to reveal about Witcher Season 3.
So saddle up your faithful steed and gather all the money you can carry as we return to the Continent to find out what’s next in The Witcher Season 3.

The Witcher Season 3 Release Date
The Witcher season 2 debuted almost precisely two years after the first, although this was due mostly to COVID-related delays, not to forget Henry Cavill’s injuries on filming.
For the time being, TV productions appear to be moving almost as swiftly as they were before the epidemic, so with any more delays, we would anticipate Witcher season 3 to come by the end of 2022, at the very least. or, most realistically, 2023 but that is, of course, a subject to change.
It was revealed that the writers’ room is already working on material for Witcher season 3 when conversing with showrunner Lauren S Hissrich in the final week of November 2021.
“This season’s writers’ room is outstanding.” We’ve always had fantastic writers on the show, after all. However, I believe that this season in particular has… We had some new people come in, and it was really intriguing how having this sort of new blood changed the trajectory of the room: people who had decided to watch the 1st season, then filtered the 2nd season, and happened to come in with brand new, fresh concepts, who sort of confronted me on stuff that I hadn’t really considered about before.
“What’s intriguing is that we finalized the scripts first, and then we started talking to the actors and directors and getting into the production restrictions of really making these eight episodes into a full-length adventure,” Lauren added.
“It’s vital to me that the performers, for example, are as passionate about their travels; that they understand the journeys of their characters. So those are the types of discussions that will take place in the near future.”
What happened in the Witcher Season 2?
Francesca is seeking retribution for the death of her kid in Redania. She marks the doors of all the newborns who are to die, and kills them with a wave of her hands as if she were a biblical deity. Francesca’s vicious disposition has been foretold for a long time, as when she proposed sending Yen and Fringilla’s heads to Aretuza as a reminder of elven superiority, or when she informed Fringilla she had slit her own father’s throat… She only seemed compassionate because she was led by religion, but we erred in supposing she was soft.
After learning about the White Flame and the allegiance he commands for 2 seasons, we finally meet Emperor Emhyr in the flesh in the only way this season could have ended. When he gets into Cintra, he exposes Fringilla and Cahir’s ruse. He was the one who sent the assassin to kill Francesca’s kid, we discover.
The Witcher Cast
Audiences will most likely recognize Henry Cavill from his portrayal as Clark Kent, AKA Superman, in the DC Extended Universe. He initially donned the cape and tights for Man of Steel in 2013, before facing off against Ben Affleck’s Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He is presently playing Geralt and will be doing so in Witcher season 3.
Princess Cirilla, or Ciri as she is more often known, is Queen Calanthe’s granddaughter and Cintra’s lone princess, and she is played by Freya Allan and we are expecting to see her in Witcher season 3.
Yennefer of Vengerberg is played by Anya Chalotra and another person who will be in Witcher season 3. Yennefer of Vengerberg is a disadvantaged girl from (you guessed it) Vengerberg who began her existence with a bent spine and some facial paralysis. When she unintentionally portals herself to Aretuza (the Mage academy), she embarks on a new adventure.
Voleth Meir The Witcher Explained
Voleth Meir is initially seen in a floating mansion that looks to be supported by basilisk legs. Fans of Slavic mythology and folktales would identify this as a reference to Baba Yaga, the supernatural creature (or trio of sisters of the same name) who appears as a malformed old lady living in a hut standing on chicken legs.
