We will quickly announce the actual truth behind the rumors that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 might be on the way. For the ones who do not remember the first movie -let’s admit it, most of us do not have a good memory and it has been quite some time after the release of the movie- recalling what Sonic was about might be a good idea.
Basically, after being forced to escape his home realm, Sonic the Hedgehog sees the titular speedster arrive on Earth and befriend small-town detective Tom Wachowski. When Sonic finds himself in a situation where he has to be involved with a mad scientist called Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik, he quickly realizes that he must find a way to use his ability to protect himself and the ones he sees beloved.
After the ending of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, fans will naturally want to know what plot they might watch in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Luckily, we have some information about the next movie even with the 2nd one freshly released. But before that, let us answer the question of whether a Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is possible in the first place or not.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Release Date

If you have watched the 1st movie, you might remember how Sonic the Hedgehog film was a moderate critical and commercial success that led the franchise to consider a planned sequel. But the success of the movie did not make the filmmaker stop there, and they planned ahead for the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and a Knuckles spinoff series as well.
We were surprised by the update of Director Jeff Fowler related to a possible Sonic the Hedgehog 3. He said that he will not be formally included in the making of the movie, but he actually desires to come back to the team of the threequel which amazed many Sonic fans.
The excellent news is that Sonic 3 is absolutely coming because there was an official announcement, but we simply don’t know when it will be available to watch. Although no specific release date for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has been announced, we are confident that we will hear more about the upcoming movie soon enough.

First of all, we were happy to know that the original authors for Sonic the Hedgehog movies Pat Casey and Josh Miller most certainly will return for Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and we really want to see them in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 too.
If you hear about the original cast members from the 2nd movie, (in case you do not know them, we will watch Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Jim Carrey, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Lee Madjoub, and Colleen O’Shaughnessey in the 2nd movie) you probably will want to see them reprise their roles for Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
In the 2nd film, Schwartz’s Sonic will be fighting with Dr. Eggman once more, as expected. As a villain, he is seeking the powerful Master Emerald with the assistance of Idris Elba’s Knuckles the Echidna, and we totally understand that the villain urges that come from him! As a result of these events, Sonic will have to collaborate with the new buddy Miles “Tails” Prower.

Mobius is seen as a frequent element for early Sonic movies and animations because various Sonic television series, novels, and comics took place there.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Trailer
As we have mentioned before, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sega’s popular video game series, returned with its 2nd movie by confirming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is also on the way. The film falls into a heroic comedy genre, and after its 1st chapter was a box office success in 2020, it is understandable why they wanted to release Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
For the ones who have no idea about the franchise, these films are based on Sega’s 1991 video game with the main character called Sonic who is an alien hedgehog known for his supersonic speed.
