Even though Morbius did not do good numbers at the box office and critics disemboweled the movie, some people still enjoyed the film, as can be understood from the audience score (71%) on Rotten Tomatoes. If you are one of those people, you may want to watch more movies like Morbius until Morbius 2 comes through (which is yet to be confirmed.)
Released in all theatres on April 1, Morbius did not make the dreams of Sony Entertainment come true as the company was hoping for another Venom success. Morbius grossed $163 million worldwide against a $75-83 million budget. Compared to Venom (2018), which grossed more than $850 million worldwide, Morbius became one of Sony’s biggest flops. The company made the movie come back to theatres last Friday, hoping that it would gain popularity this time around. But it only made $85.000 despite the meme’s popularity “it’s morbin’ time.”
1. Venom
Like Morbius, Venom was also rebuked by reviewers, but it still did great at the box office as this is not the 1st time opinions of critics and viewers don’t match. In the movie, a bold journalist named Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) becomes the host of an alien symbiote (or an alien made out of the black goo, as our original Spider-Man calls it.) The symbiote’s name is Venom, whose species wants to invade Earth and devour humans. Venom promises Eddie that he will spare his life if he helps the symbiotes. As Venom uses Eddie’s body, Eddie also enjoys the new superhuman abilities he has earned.
2. Ghost Rider
Ghost Rider (2007) is an exciting movie in which Nicholas Cage plays a motorcycle stuntman named Johnny Blaze (I mean, look at the surname…). Years before the film’s events occur, Johnny sells his soul to Mephistopheles (Peter Fonda), a demon, to save his father’s life, who was about to die of cancer. Years later, Mephistopheles comes back to seal his end of the deal and makes Johhny a ghost rider, a bounty hunter of the damned. Mephistopheles says he will give Johnny’s soul back if he destroys Blackheart (Wes Bentley), another demon in a power struggle with Mephistopheles.
3. Ant-Man
Ant-Man (2015), starring Paul Rudd as the lead hero, is one of the movies in the Marvel Universe. Do not worry; you don’t have to watch the other movies to understand what’s going on in this one. Rudd plays Scott Lang, a master thief who agrees to join a crew to commit burglary. When Lang breaks into the house and cracks the safe, he only finds what he believes to be a motorcycle suit. But when he goes back home and tries on the suit, he accidentally shrinks himself to the size of an ant. He later is chosen as the new Ant-Man by the suit’s creator, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and finds himself on a difficult mission.

4. Logan
On our list of movies like Morbius, another one is Logan (2017), which was critically praised, unlike the other films on the list. Receiving a score of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, Logan was the final outing for the superhero Wolverine (Hugh Jackman). The film takes place in 2029 when we see an aged Wolverine with seriously ill Professor X (Patrick Stewart). Logan works as a taxi driver in the hopes of staying away from the outside world. His hopes get shattered when he meets a young mutant girl named Laura (Dafne Keen). Logan embarks on a journey to protect the girl from the dark forces that want to capture her.
5. Shazam!
Shazam! is the last movie on our list that you can watch until Morbius 2 is released. In the film, a 14-year-old kid gets chosen by an ancient wizard, Shazam, when he shouts out the word in question. The kid becomes an adult superhero (Zachary Levi) with various superpowers such as manipulating electricity, super speed, and super strength. He tests out his newly-found superpowers, but his joy lasts shortly as he has to fight against evil powers.
