Spider Lily and Asaura developed the Japanese original animated television series Lycoris Recoil. A-1 Pictures produced it, which will air from July to September 2022. On September 5, 2022, a manga adaptation by Yasunori Bizen began serialization in Media Factory’s manga magazine Monthly Comic Flapper.
Takina Inoue is a member of the all-female task force of Heisei-style assassins and spies known as “Lycoris,” an undercover group named after the flower that eliminates criminals and terrorists in Tokyo to keep peace in the face of World War III, with roots in a fictional pre-Meiji group known as “Higanbana.” However, during an operation to stop a significant exchange of weaponry, she begins firing indiscriminately at the opponents to save a colleague who has been kidnapped, jeopardizing the safety of other Lycoris.
As a result, she was fired for defying orders. She was subsequently sent to work with an elite Lycoris agent, Chisato Nishikigi, who is notorious for her role in demolishing the ancient radio tower, on a branch of the agency known as “LycoReco,” which works secretly as a café. Takina works with Chisato to manage the café to get reinstated into the agency, while terrorists led by Majima threaten the peace that the Lycoris is defending.

Lycoris Recoil Season 2 Release Date
Fortunately, a sequel to Lycoris Recoil is feasible because the story’s creators left an open door for one. According to the events of Lycoris Recoil Episode 13, super-terrorist Majima is still alive, and he did not bring the world back into balance by utterly eliminating the DA organization.
Even though all of the Lycoris females were exposed to the public light and subsequently set up for execution, Team LycoReco restored the status quo by convincing (mainly) everyone that it was all a PR ploy – false news for the win?!
The primary villain’s character was also fleshed up in conclusion. Despite his willingness to go to extremes, his objective of “always standing with the vulnerable” and his disdain for totalitarian administrations made him a somewhat likable character. He’s still a villain since he’s a “ends justify the means” sort of man with an odd preoccupation with confronting his worst fear in lethal conflict. Still, at least his motivations go beyond the cookie-cutter villain clichés and caricatures.
Is Lycoris Recoil worth watching?
Lycoris Recoil is an anime that prioritizes action and characters over plot, and although this isn’t always a bad thing, it still needs a watchable tale that doesn’t distract us with its problems.
Let’s start with what this series excels at: characters. The primary cast is excellent. This anime’s most outstanding feature is its colorful characters and beautiful relationships. While antagonists have shortcomings, they are designed to question our protagonist’s beliefs and objectives. We also see some development in the side characters, which is pleasing.
The high level of production makes this show even more enjoyable to watch. The animation is excellent, the audio is adequate, and the action scenes have good choreography. To summarize, Lycoris Recoil offers unforgettable characters and mindless action. I

The Alan Institute’s operations are unknown because it is a shadow organization. The degree of help it can provide its members looks nearly limitless financially and technologically.
Chisato has benefited from the Alan Institute’s assistance, although inadvertently. The Alan Institute, which also funded her prosthetic heart, appears to have observed her remarkable responses and groomed her as a toddler to be a killing machine. Majima, the primary adversary in Lycoris Recoil, appears to have received backing from the Alan Institute, but it is unclear how. The Alan Institute’s leader is unknown.
