Why Everbody Hates Lord of the Rings The Rings of Power

Some watched it out of respect for the movie franchise, while others hated it. So why didn’t people love Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power?

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is another production based on J. R. R. Tolkien’s novels. However, it focuses long before The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings and takes us to the Second Age of Middle-earth. We witness the epic created by the characters, from the Misty Mountains to Lindon, from Numenor to many places we have not heard of before, in this period called the period of peace but not much peace.

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 1

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 1 contains many journeys and hero stories. But not all of these stories are compelling. To give an example, Elrond and Prince Durin’s chemistry is so matched that we can watch without getting bored even if they just sit around doing nothing. The characters in the Kingdom of the Dwarves aren’t really on a visible journey either, they just stand still. However, the journey they embark on within themselves is also interesting and makes you watch it.

When it comes to the story of Arondir and Bronwyn, we get bored, because they have very ordinary travel stories. Yes, they show us how evil has spread throughout the Southern Lands, but that’s it. One elf, one human, they love each other very much and they are brave, but we do not witness the development of their characters. The creators of the series must be aware of this, because they do not continue their story very much.

The Stranger

The Stranger

The Stranger, on the other hand, is the character that leaves a question mark in the minds of many of us and causes us to watch the series the most. Because from the first moment we see him, we think that there will be either Sauron or Galdalf in the future. Just like Gandalf, he starts hanging out with the Hobbits from the moment he falls into the world and learns many things from the Hobbit Nori.

On the other hand, although he seems to have done it with good intentions, many of his actions end in evil, and we never forget the possibility that he is Sauron. However, later it turns out that The Stranger is Gandalf, although his name is not directly mentioned, the sentences he used against Nori are exactly the same as what Gandalf said to Gollum in LOTR! We wish we could watch to the fullest how a good person turned into such a bad person if this character was Sauron.

Halbrand

Halbrand

So who is Sauron? Halbrand, introduced to us as king of the Southern Lands! Since both the Sauron character and the Gandalf character were announced at approximately the same time, we seem to have found answers to all our questions at the same time. Here we need to mention one plus of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. In the LOTR movies, we see Sauron as the embodiment of evil on a hill, and we fear him, that’s all. We don’t know anything about his personality or where he came from. However, we started to witness his story in Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. It hasn’t fully recovered its strength yet and started to do damage, but it’s clear that this part of the story will be more exciting.

Galadriel

Galadriel

Finally, let’s talk about Galadriel. In both the LOTR movies and The Hobbit, we have seen Galadriel mature and warlike, a master of magic. But in Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Galadriel makes us feel young, despite living for thousands of years again. Using tools like daggers rather than magic in battles, Galadriel is more ambitious than ever to fight evil.

Is LOTR The Rings of Power worth to watch?

LOTR The Rings of Power

LOTR The Rings of Power

Our answer to this question is both yes and no, and we have many reasons for that. Although LOTR The Rings of Power has had the opportunity to introduce each of its characters in much more detail, it also carries the negativity of being turned into a series. The story, which is presented to us in 15 minutes in a movie, continues here in parts. For this very reason, we can’t get into the main story. Both those who have already watched the series and those who will watch it are definitely disappointed.

Some scenes of the series are as legendary as Lord of the Rings and give us excitement. However, there are some scenes that we think are too simple and do not suit the excellent productions before. Still, LOTR The Rings of Power has great potential and we’re sure it will offer us much better, even if it falters at first.

Is Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power a flop?

Is Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power a flop?

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is liked by some and disliked by others, so the first season of the series has a budget of $450 million, which is over $58 million per episode! That being the case, it is not unexpected to wish that Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will leave all the criticism behind and be a perfect production.

Rather than being described as excellent, Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power was badly criticized and unloved by some LOTR-loving viewers. Fans also say that the series is good, but it has many missing points. We can’t help calling the show a complete flop, and we hope it gets even better in the coming seasons!
