Young Royals Season 1 was so successful on Netflix that there was an immediate request for Young Royals Season 2 by the viewers, which we understand completely considering the ending!
Young Royals is a fictitious story about a young prince named Wilhelm (Edvin Ryding) and through the show, we see how he develops. The starting point of the show was Wilhelm being sent to an exclusive boarding school after he could not control himself and got into a fight at a bar.
He later meets Simon (Omar Rudberg) who is an openly queer student in his new school, and eventually, we see these two characters falling in love. Wilhelm, as you might expect, was very confused at this point because he was having some conflicting thoughts about his duty to the crown and his emotions.
With that in mind, here is everything you need to know about Young Royals Season 2, including the release date, a review of the show, and some other programs that you might like if you enjoyed watching Young Royals.

Young Royals Season 2
We have been on the wait for Young Royals Season 2 for long enough, and we literally could not hear anything about the show’s future from the showrunners or the cast members. Even though we feel like the show is a little bit underappreciated by the viewers, the time obviously has come for Young Royals Season 2.
On a recent date, the streaming website Netflix’s Twitter account delivered amazing news for us, claiming and publicly saying that the work for Young Royals Season 2 has formally started and they are shooting the long-awaited scenes. Even more, all of the cast members were present to celebrate the news of the show’s extension.
The official date seems far on the horizon, so we still need to wait for it, but we can at least say that we will not have to wait long to see Prince Wilhelm and Simon back on our screens.

Young Royals Review
Young Royals, in brief, is a show that starts to tell the tale of a young guy, his face scraped and battered, leaning over a cabinet. Through the first scenes, we see someone informs him that a vehicle is on its way to pick him up which successfully gives the vibe that we will watch someone important throughout the show.
Some critics say that Young Royals did not evoke any sense like in them, because of the fact that the series, which was a collaborative work of Lisa Ambjörn, Lars Beckung, and Camilla Holter, has the air that it is yet another teen show, waiting for relatively young aged people to consume the show.
This feeling they got is understandable for us because there is literally nothing on the first episode than can prove them otherwise. But as the show goes on, there are very intriguing events happening and leaving you only to want more, just as the case for Young Royals Season 2.
Shows like Young Royals
Gossip Girl was a huge hit when it initially aired in the early 2000s, and if you are looking for shows like Young Royals, you will be happy to hear the news that Gossip Girl has been resurrected by HBO Max. The story is pretty much similar to the original one, but the cast has been renewed completely to offer more conflict and drama to the viewers, which we liked a lot!
Everything Sucks is another teen drama that you might like if you are on the hunt for shows like Young Royals. Sadly, this show has been canceled after the 1st season but it definitely looked like it had a promising future. This teen dramedy series is set in 1990 and follows the high school AV and theatre clubs, and their aim is to shoot a film that will magically make them the “popular kids” at school.
While we watched Trinkets, we could see ourselves through every character. Even though it took some time for the personas in the show to break their barriers and show us who they really are underneath, Trinkets was an amazing teen show. We think Trinkets is unfairly underappreciated, and it might be a perfect choice for the ones who are looking for a show like Young Royals.
Skins is a British dramedy series that aired for 7 seasons and became a cult hit among young fans during the 2000s. If you are born before 2000, you must have definitely watched Skins, since it revolves around some very familiar scenarios you can actually be involved in as a teen, and we recommend watching it while waiting for Young Royals Season 2.
