She-Hulk Season 1 Review
The She-Hulk series is about Marvel’s She-Hulk character, namely Jennifer Walters. Jennifer Walters is a lawyer woman in her 30s, greenish in color and 6 foot, 7 inches tall. She specializes in cases involving superheroes. The interesting life of this Hulk female lawyer, who is over 2 meters tall, was brought to the screen by Marvel Studios. The flow of the series is parallel to other productions in the Marvel universe. With its successful cast, this series was thought to have a lot of potential, but it seems like it fell short of meeting expectations.
Despite the criticism, the She-Hulk series is still considered a success, and the cast has a big influence on it. On the other hand, the sitcom-like series seems to have established a stronger bond with the audience. Tatiana Maslany, who played Jennifer Walters in particular, gave a very good acting performance.
The highlight of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is that it humorously handles the challenges of being a superhero and the problems of being a green giant woman, making a good comedy. One of the criticisms brought about the first season of the series is that the series deviated from its line in the penultimate episode and disrupted its flow integrity. There seems to be a lot of disintegration in the final episodes to make it to the finale, and around 30 minutes doesn’t seem to be enough to wrap it up and keep the humorous streak.
The first season of the show begins by explaining how She-Hulk was born and explains how She-Hulk begins to deal with superhuman cases. Throughout the season, the focus was on She-Hulk’s social life rather than her lawyer identity.
Court and legal affairs are still part of the story, but Jenna’s social life experiences come to the fore a little more. Events such as the people She-Hulk went on a date with, opening a Tinder account, going shopping are covered throughout the series. However, the series was fed from here and it seems that it has managed to extract a good humor from these ordinary events.
The most criticized episode of the series was the 9th episode, the final. In the finale, Jenniffer broke the 4th wall to meet the show’s writers at Marvel Studios: Assembled. The artificial intelligence responsible for the plot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe K.E.V.I.N. She met it and convinced it to rewrite the final episode. Then she returns to her own schedule and tries to regroup her life. She gets her job back and vows to continue her superhero work. Marvel fans think that this final episode could have been much different and the series deserved better.
Did She-Hulk meet the expectations?
Although the She-Hulk series is loved, it seems that it did not meet expectations. It’s true that Marvel has seen a noticeable decline lately, and She-Hulks is proof of that, because the potential of the show was so much more than that. The cast of the series was very well planned and Marvel fans were therefore very excited for the series.
Unfortunately, the She-Hulk series could not meet the expectations in terms of both visual effects and the preservation of the subject integrity. While the sitcom mood of the show was liked, the double standard behavior and humiliation of the character of Jenniffer were not welcomed. There is also a section that finds the funny but far from adventurous events that refer to She-Hulk’s social life boring.
The series finally disappointed with its lower-than-expected quality finale. The events that developed until the last episode of the series obviously did not seem to be able to recover, and there was not enough time to collect these events in the season finale. It was not liked that the character broke the 4th wall and that a solution was brought in this way. Marvel fans would have liked a better finale.
Is She-Hulk the Hulk’s sister?
No, She-Hulk is not Hulk’s brother. Hulk, aka Bruce Banner’s cousin. Jennifer Walters was involved in a car accident with her cousin, Bruce Banner, and had a blood transfusion with her cousin through an incision made as a result of this accident. After this event, she turned into She-Hulk.
To control her power, Banner took her to a secret location in Mexico and trained her. In this way, Walters, who began to take control of her powers, decided that she did not want to save people as a superhero. She later joined a firm as a lawyer, She-Hulk, to handle cases involving superhumans.
