Formula 1: Drive to Survive is a great production that brings us into the world of Formula 1. We watched the first 4 seasons with excitement and we are looking forward to Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 5!
The documentary type production is directed by James Gay-rees and has been in our lives since 2019. Formula 1: Drive to Survive, which has an IMDb score of 8.6, brings the competition, pilots and managers we see from afar in Formula 1 races close to us and we witness their lives. In this documentary, where we enter a real Formula 1 race with its magnificent images, we are familiar with all the facts both inside and outside the race. The legendary drivers we have watched so far are names like Lewis Hamilton, Daniel Ricciardo, and Sebastian Vettel.
Let’s both answer the questions about the documentary series and find out when Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 5 will be released!
Will there be another season of Formula 1: Drive to Survive?
The documentary series, which returned with its 4th season on March 11, has seasons consisting of 10 episodes. In season 4, the Netflix teams took part in the paddock in all 22 races in the longest season in Formula 1 history. The episodes starting from the Bahrain tests made us watch all kinds of developments up to the eventful, dramatic race in Abu Dhabi.
In general, Netflix is not a platform that favors early news about new seasons. Formula 1 has also not made an early announcement for the previous seasons of Drive to Survive. We only learned about the future of Season 4 in August last year.
But this time the situation is a little different. We see that Netflix’s cameras are shooting in the first pre-season test in Barcelona for the Drive to Survive Season 5. In addition, McLaren driver Lando Norris shared a video on TikTok with the words Welcome to Drive to Survive Season 5. This video is the biggest proof for us. We can also guess from the current Formula 1 rivalries that in the Drive to Survive Season 5, we will see the fight between Leclerc and Verstappen a lot, and it will focus on the championship fight, which looks like it will continue.
Is Drive to Survive Season 5 being filmed?
Although not very well known at first, the popularity of the series has grown over time. Drive to Survive Season 4 entered the Top 10 in 56 countries on Netflix.
Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 5 is being filmed these days and will launch on Netflix in 2023 just like the other seasons.
In Drive to Survive Season 5, we will again witness behind the scenes and mingle with drivers and teams. We will witness how they prepare for the championships. The series will be equipped with images and interviews that we have been deprived of so far.
Is F1 Drive to Survive real?
While the stories it contains are absolutely true, sometimes some effects are needed to increase the impact. To give an example, we see two Formula 1 drivers crash into each other. Sound effects can be added to make this image more impressive. In addition, an increase can be made in the engine sounds of the vehicles with the effect. Tire squeaks are another added sound effect!
On the other hand, the drivers may be madly wanting to beat each other and this tension may be portrayed in the most brutal way possible, but we know that these fierce rivals are friends and live in peace in their normal lives. They don’t want to kill each other!
What is wrong with Drive to Survive?
The wrong part was that in every season of Drive To Survive, the drivers’ radio messages were presented to the audience in a completely different race, not the race they received. The sentences are cut from different places. Things that were never said were done as if they were said. We hope that this situation, which has received a great reaction in the Formula 1 world, will not happen in Drive to Survive Season 5.
Even if it does, Formula 1 fans will leave these contents unconsidered. Speech modifications and mergers can lead to dangerous situations and, if exaggerated, can deprive us of the Formula 1 world. While watching with such pleasure, this is a situation we would never want, we hope that we will witness these events closely in every period of the races!
