The book is co-written with Hillel Levin and is called In With the Devil: A Fallen Hero, A Serial Killer, and A Dangerous Bargain for Redemption. In the book, Keene talks about his teenage crimes, which later led to him getting a 10-year sentence. After a year into his sentence, Keene is approached by a U.S. Attorney who wants him to become an undercover informant against Hall. In exchange, he would be released from prison early.

Scared at 1st, Keene starts his operation and becomes friends with Hall, trying to get a confession out of him about the alleged murders he committed. Without going into spoilers, we can say that the series follows the real-life story in the book.

Larry’s storyline is primarily set in Indiana and Illinois. He used to live in Wabash, Indiana, but the girl he had murdered, Jessica Roach, is shown riding a bike in Georgetown, Illınois. However, her dead body is found in Perrysville, Indiana.
