NHK Educational TV has just aired a popular program, and the last episode of Ao Ashi‘s 1st season is almost here. We know that fans are already excited for Ao Ashi Season 2 even though it had just been released, and we will give you all of the details regarding the upcoming season of the popular anime.
Fans might already know that Ao Ashi is a manga written and illustrated by Yugo Kobayashi that has been published in Big Comic Spirits. On April 9, 2022, an adaption into an animated television series was released, and with the end of the 1st season, now is the time to talk about Ao Ashi Season 2.

Aoshi Season 2 Release Date
Ao Ashi is a very popular series and based on all of the known information, Ao Ashi Season 2 is not out of the question, but we simply don’t know when it will air. The 2nd season of Ao Ashi has yet to be confirmed because the 1st season just finished airing, and the manga is still running, so there is a significant chance that we will watch Ao Ashi Season 2 soon.
Since January 5, 2015, the manga has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Spirits magazine, and Ao Ashi Brother Foot, a spin-off series by the same author, was serialized in Big Comic Spirits, and an anime television series adaption for Spring 2028 was confirmed. We think this all leads to the release of Ao Ashi Season 2. The anime is animated by Production I.G studio and directed by Akira Sato, alongside scriptwriter Masahiro Yokotani, so you can expect some quality stuff from this anime.
Character design was handled by Manabu Nakatake, Toshie Kawamura, Asuka Yamaguchi, and Saki Hasegawa, with music composed by Masaru Yokoyama, with Crunchyroll having the exclusive rights to broadcast the series outside of Asia. As you can see, Ao Ashi’s future remains uncertain, although there is a very high chance that it will be renewed for Ao Ashi Season 2 because of the positive reviews and high viewership.
The series is incredibly popular, and we’ll have to wait and watch how the manga continues to do before making any accurate predictions on the series’ future continuation, so we cannot guess a possible plotline. We think the earliest we may see a hypothetical 2nd season is 2024.
Is Ao Ashi and Blue Lock the same?
While it hasn’t received the same amount of attention as other series, sports anime enthusiasts have found a lot to like in this anime as it has offered fascinating characters and vivid animation, as well as a pretty accurate picture of the sport that will excite enthusiasts. However, the popularity of Ao Ashi has prompted parallels to Blue Lock: while Ao Ashi and Blue Lock are both soccer anime, they approach the sport differently and have quite distinct atmospheres as a consequence.
Ao Ashi has been lauded for its innovative and realistic approach to soccer as the author clearly cares about presenting a genuine portrayal of the sport and how it operates and the series employs standard coming-of-age and cooperation clichés.
Blue Lock, on the other hand, is considerably more concerned with action and intrigue and the storyline also concentrates on people rather than teams, and the series contains some action-fantasy aspects, but which is superior is a matter of opinion, but Blue Lock is projected to be the more successful than the other.
Blue Lock, a shounen manga, received the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in 2021, and Ao Ashi, together with Kaguya-sama: Love is War, received the 65th Shogakukan Manga Award in 2020. Even more, the manga for both series is selling at a comparable rate, however, Blue Lock may be slightly ahead. However, Ao Ashi Season 2 might change the competition status in the future.
Where can I watch Ao Ashi?
The 1st season of the anime can be watched via Netflix and Crunchyroll, and we expect Ao Ashi Season 2 to be released on those platforms, too.
Why is Ao Ashi so good?
Fans cannot wait for Ao Ashi Season 2 because the anime is so good: overall, Ao Ashi appears to be not just one of the finest soccer anime, but also a terrific sports anime on par with the best in the genre as it gives the sporting realism that soccer fans crave, but it also doesn’t shy away from dramatizing key moments. It also features one of the best sports anime lead characters, and despite a strong start, Ao Ashi will have significant obstacles if it is to join the ranks of the top sports anime, such as Haikyuu.
The series’ biggest difficulty may be developing the rest of the characters to match Ashito’s enthusiasm, but we think they can manage it in Ao Ashi Season 2.
