How well do you know queer characters in the DCU? What if we asked you to rank them?

Queer characters appear in many productions and we love watching them with their colorful worlds. However, there is a place where we see them, which attracts our attention the most: comics. Kate Kane

Another name for Kate Kane, a DC Universe character first created in 1956, is Batwomen. Kate Kane is the first of the queer characters in the DCU, with all the features and abilities of Batman. She herself is way too sexy!

Kate Kane, Batman’s cousin, loses her parents in a car accident. She was sent to a boarding school after this accident, is expelled because she likes women. She travels the world for several years and learns fighting techniques specific to each country. When Batman disappears, she goes to Gotham City to protect it.

2. Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn

Who doesn’t know Harley Quinn, Batman’s nemesis, and Joker’s lover? Harley, a psychiatrist, falls head over heels with the Joker while working in a mental institution. She helps him escape and is both deprived of her psychiatry license and becomes a criminal.

The love of Harley Quinn, who joined our lives in 1994, with the Joker is a little too tense! They literally live their love by treating each other badly. The conflict and hostility of our most beautiful queer character with Batman has been keeping us on the screen for years.

3. John Constantine

John Constantine

John Constantine

John Constantine, aka Hellblazer, came into our lives in 1985 and is one of the bad queer characters in the DCU. Constantine was never loved and blamed by his father, as his mother died giving birth to him. Constantine, who grew up in a loveless family and wanted to escape from this family, ran away from home and started to feed the evil inside him after this process.

Our queer character, who first tries to defeat his opponents with his intelligence, resorts to magic if he cannot do this. He is extremely skilled in magic and potion preparation because he has been trained in the subject for years.

4. Extraño

Extraño

Extraño

Another example of male queer characters in the DCU is Extraño. He even has the distinction of being the first character to be explicitly stated as queer and shown in the drawings. The fact that it has not been seen before has brought many criticisms about it.

He participated in an experiment on human evolution and gained the ability to fly, shoot arrows, speed, and cast magic, thus turning into a superhero. He fought for years to take down villains. Unfortunately, Extraño contracted HIV from him while fighting an AIDS vampire, and that’s how he ended up.

5. Hartley Rathaway

Hartley Rathaway

Hartley Rathaway

Hartley Rathaway, also known as Pied Piper, doesn’t quite fit the definition of queer characters in the DCU. I say this because, while the other characters were bad, they had a colorful side, Hartley Rathaway is totally dark!

First seen in 1959, Hartley Rathaway met us as The Flash’s nemesis. He is also a member of The Flash anti-Rogues. Oddly enough, he is a born deaf character and hears with hearing aids.

6. Coagula

Coagula

Coagula

Another name of the DC Comics’ Doom Patrol character, Coagula, is Kate Godwin. She has perhaps one of the most interesting stories of queer characters in the DCU. Because she works as a prostitute!

Coagula realized that a strange talent had been added to her during an affair while she was a prostitute. She could solidify liquids and split solids. Although she could only do this while touching them, it was a truly valuable skill. She first tried to join the Justice League to fulfill her heroic duty using this ability, but was rejected by them. They were impressed by her, but the fact that she couldn’t control her ability frightened them. She met and joined the Doom Patrol as a result of encountering them while fighting a bad guy.

7. Jon Kent

Jon Kent

Jon Kent

Yes, you are surprised, aren’t you? Jon Kent is also one of the queer characters in the DCU. Jon Kent, whose father is Superman, first appeared in 2015. Although Jon had grown up not knowing his family’s true identity, he was suspicious of them. Because they weren’t like normal parents. In addition, after a certain age, he realized that his talents came from his father, and as a result, his parents told him the truth.

After the facts were learned, Superman introduced him to characters such as Batman and Wonder Woman and included him in the Justice League. Additionally, he gave him the title of Superboy and we witnessed his story of growth and self-development.

8. Apollo

Apollo

Apollo

Apollo is one of the strongest queer characters in the DCU with solar power. He is a member of StormWatch and his husband Midnighter is a superhero like himself.

Apollo used to be a soldier fighting for the US military. His abilities were given by Bendix, a member of StormWatch, and he has heat vision, high immunity, and super strength. However, there is a troublesome situation with him: if there is no sun, Apollo’s power is lost. After a disaster for the StormWatch crew, only Apollo and her husband were left. However, they never stopped fighting evil and continued their mission in secret.
