While Reservation Dogs was still in the midst of its first season, FX announced that there will be Reservation Dogs Season 2, coming in 2022. The comedy series’ first episode aired on FX on 9 August 2021 and the season finale aired on 20 September 2021. So, even before the first season was over the fans were blessed with the news that the show was renewed for another season.
The series follows 4 Indigenous teenagers living on a reservation in east Oklahoma. The teenagers, after losing their friend Daniel, dream of moving to California, as it was also Daniel’s dream before his death. We see the gang committing crimes and also trying to fight it while at the same time making preparations to leave the reservation.
What we see at the end of the season though (SPOILER ALERT!) is that the gang is not ready to leave their home and move to California yet, as they realize they still have a lot of stuff to deal with before leaving. However, only one member of the gang Elora (Devery Jacobs) manages to escape.
After an incredible and refreshing season 1, we are very much excited about the arrival of another season. Here is pretty much all we know about Reservation Dogs Season 2!
Reservation Dogs Season 2
As the show’s first season started to air in August 2021, we also expect the second season to be aired in late summer or early fall of 2022. There is no information released on Season 2 except the fact that there is going to be a season 2!
We will probably see the effects of Elora leaving the gang to escape to California with the group’s rival Jackie (Elva Guerra). There is also the chance of seeing Bear’s aspiring rapper father Punkin (Steve Jodi) whom we saw only in the 4th episode. The actor playing the character Bear told in an interview that he actually expects to see Punkin back again in Season 2 but nothing is clear yet.
Reservation Dogs cast
The main cast of the series is the 4 teenagers that we talked about earlier: Bear (D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai), Willie Jack (Paulina Alexis), Elora (Devery Jacobs), and Cheese (Lane Factor). It is safe to assume that these four will be coming back for the second season since the main story revolves around them.
There were also a few supporting characters whose return is not for certain yet. These were: the police officer Big (Zahn McClarnon), Jackie (Elva Guerra), Spirit (Dallas Goldtooth), Mose (Lil Mike), and Mekko (Funny Bone).
We also expect the co-creators and executive producers Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi to return to the show.
Reservation Dogs episodes
The first season of Reservation Dogs has only 8 episodes, half an hour each. The names of the episodes are as follows: F*ckin’ Rez Dogs (ep.1), NDN Clinic, Uncle Brownie, What About Your Dad, Come and Get Your Love, Hunting, California Dreamin’, Satvrday (ep.8).
There is no official announcement on what number of episodes will be there in Season 2, as the official IMDB page of the series also does not give any information on this. However, we do believe it is reasonable to think the new season will also have 8 episodes as the 8-episode-run worked greatly for the first season.
Where is Reservation Dogs streaming?
