Sex Education might be the new face of the teen drama genre as the show has proved to be groundbreaking with one unique season after another. With the newest installment to the series this week, everyone turned their eye to the Sex Education Season 3 Cast, as they come to the forefront as the main reasons behind the show’s immense success.
Sex Education Season 3 Cast consists of mostly young but highly talented actors who are unparalleled when it comes to delivering their parts. Even though we see most of our main characters in Sex Education Season 3 Cast, we also see some newcomers who perfectly fit into the show’s atmosphere.
In this article, we will discuss the characters, careers, and personal lives of the Sex Education Season 3 cast. So, without further ado, let’s dive in!
Asa Butterfield (Otis)
Sex Education Season 3 cast cannot be mentioned without referring to the show’s lead, Asa Butterfield who is playing Otis, first. Otis’s story was, once again, occupied with Meave and the two’s complex romance this season. Even though for many Butterfield’s name is synonymous with Otis, the actors actually previously played in Hugo and Ender’s Game, both of which were well-known movies.
24 years old actor had many relationships with many beautiful actresses before, including Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev. However, recently, he seems to be enjoying his single life.
Emma Mackey (Maeve Wiley)
Another crucial component of Sex Education Season 3 Cast is Emma Mackey, who plays the part of Maeve. Maeve is a different, rebellious, and absolutely free soul, and we, as the audience, can’t get enough of her. In Season 3, we get to more of her family and difficult upbringing, which made her even more relatable for the audience.
Delivering the part successfully, Mackey is actually can be referred to as a newbie in the entertainment sector as her only well-known role before Maeve is in Kenneth Branagh’s Death on the Nile which is expected to be released in 2022. It was previously rumored that she was dating Dan Whitlam, but there are no official confirmations on that.
Dua Saleh (Cal)
Dua Saleh is portraying the part of Cal, who is one of the new additions to the Sex Education world. As a non-binary student, Cal fits perfectly in the series’ inclusive structure despite the ongoing conflicts with Hope. Saleh, who is a Sudanese-American actor, is an accomplished singer at the same time.
Mimi Keene (Ruby Matthews)
Mimi Keene’s character Ruby has become one of the surprises of Sex Education Season 3 as she had a very prominent role as the head of the Untouchables. It is not a surprise to see 23-years-old Keene so successful in this role as she proved her talent previously in Eastenders.
Jemima Kirke (Hope)
Sex Education Season 3 cast had many important new characters but arguably none of them were as impactful as Hope, played by Jemima Kirke. As the new headteacher of Moordale, Hope is determined to bring order back to the school and our beloved students are not happy with it. Kirke is a household name already thanks to her part in HBO’s Girls. The 36-years-old actress was married to Michael Mosberg until their divorce in 2017. The couple has two children together.
Gillian Anderson (Jean Milburn)
Jean Milburn, played by Gillian Anderson, is one of the few non-teen characters in the Sex Education Season 3 cast. She is one of those “cool” mums who had to struggle with not only her pregnancy but also her relationship with Jacob. Anderson, who is beloved by teens recently, is already a well-known actress for her involvement in the X-Files and The Crown. 53-years-old actress married twice and has three children. However, currently, she is single.
Kedar Williams-Stirling (Jackson Marchetti)
Jackson is the star boy of Moordale as the swimming champion. However, the Season 3 of the show witnessed more of the rebellious side of the character, portrayed by Kedar Williams-Stirling. Previously, Williams-Stirling participated in projects such as Shank, Montana, and Wolfblood. The 26-years-old actor seems to date no one recently.
Connor Swindells (Adam Groff)
Adam, played by Connor Swindells, is perhaps the character who witnessed most of the personality development during the course of Sex Education. He was once the terrifying, homophobic bully of the school and now, he is the adorable boyfriend of Eric with an amazing redemption arc. The 24-years-old actor was dating his co-actress Aimee Lou Wood, until 2020. Before Sex Education, he participated in projects such as Emma and Vigil.
Patricia Allison (Ola Nyman)
26-years-old Patricia Allison is playing the part of Ola Nyman in Sex Education. Ola is a fun teen girl whose past has been revealed more in Season 3 of the show. Even though she has not much experience in acting, Allison is quite good at delivering her part as Ola. She starred only in Les Misérables back in 2018. She is currently dating a fellow actor Phillip Walsch.
Ncuti Gatwa (Eric Effiong)
Eric might be the most loved character in Sex Education. He is fun, too mature for his age, and confident to the point of making all of us jealous. This unique part is portrayed by 28-years-old Rwandan-Scottish actor Ncuti Gatwa, who is so good at his role that he won multiple awards for it. The actor also appeared in projects such as The Last Letter from Your Lover. He seems to not have a date for now.
