Windfall is a Hitchcockian thriller about an average man who steals into the deserted vacation home of a tech CEO. However, everything is turned upside down when the owner arrives at the last minute with his wife to inspect the residence.
The tech millionaire begins to belittle the thief. His wife, on the other hand, chooses to keep a close check on both guys. She doesn’t want to cause any more controversy and wishes to depart cheerfully. However, the invader has taken them prisoner. And explores methods to take assets from the CEO, including arranging a $150,000 contract with him.
In the movie, there is a note that says ‘Call 911,’ and our inept thief instantly notices it. He pursues the gardener and threatens him with a revolver. Segel’s thief now has three captives to deal with. The hitherto reserved woman eventually loses her cool and slams her husband, claiming that his unnecessary behavior has now risked everyone’s lives.
The CEO is likewise losing patience, exasperated by a situation over which he has little control. He approaches their kidnapper, calling him a worthless coward. The provoked criminal discharges his gun into the air in revenge. This frightens the gardener, who flees. He stumbles on the carpet and slashes his throat as he falls headfirst into the glass door. Nobody’s arms are holding the gardener as he bleeds to death.

When the wife realizes where this is all going, she begins to worry. She attempts to reassure the thief, telling him that it was an accident and that he is not a murderer. The rich pair have finally abandoned their brattish, comfortable demeanor and are now urgently clinging to life. When the thief’s money comes, he sends the Wife to collect it.
Earlier in the clip, the Wife mentioned her husband’s request to have her foot tattoo erased. The tattoo symbolizes the CEO’s power over her, which is brilliant symbolism. She glances down at this tattoo again as she walks over to get the ransom.
A car passes by, and you can see she’s thinking of leaving her controlling spouse at the time, but she changes her mind at the last second. She returns the money to the house, completely oblivious to the man she’s married to.

Put three excellent performers on a single set and have them bounce ideas off of one other. Please sign us up! And the idea here is powerful enough to sustain the picture for almost an hour while these very different performing energies crash in the middle of the room.
Then authors Justin Lader and Andrew Kevin Walker realize they haven’t really thought out how to close this film, and the goodwill from the first hour begins to fade as the tone shifts dramatically. Nonetheless, there’s at least one standout performance here, and the entire thing clocks in at a wonderfully short 90 minutes or so. It may be a failed concept, but it is never unpleasant.

The film’s cast has been confirmed, led by actor Jason Segal. Segal is most known for his role as Marshall Eriksen on How I Met Your Mother, but he has also appeared in films such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall and The Muppets. Collins, who co-stars with Segal in Windfall, is an actress.
Lily Collins, the daughter of singer Phil Collins, is most known for her Netflix role as Emily Cooper in Emily in Paris. Plemons, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars for his work in The Power of the Dog, co-stars with Segal and Collins. Plemons has also appeared in films including The Irishman and Battleship.
