The Mandalorian Season 3 Release Date, Trailer - Everything We Know So Far!

Since The Mandalorian’s last episode of Season 2 was released in December 2020, many fans of the Star Wars franchise have been waiting for The Mandalorian Season 3. However, the show’s new season does not seem to be coming out soon as the series’ name is not among the list of shows and movies that will be coming to Disney+ this March. Some sources argue that the reason for Disney+ to make fans wait for the new season of The Mandalorian is to highlight other Star Wars shows that are and will be coming out this year.

One of the shows Disney+ released lately is The Book of Boba Fett whose first episode aired at the end of 2021 and the season finale just a few days ago in February. Disney+ is also planning on releasing a series on one of the most favorite Star Wars characters Obi-Wan Kenobi, which will be played by Ewan McGregor. The series’ first episode will air on Disney+ on May 25.

However, for those who say these 2 shows are not enough, we have come bearing some news about The Mandalorian Season 3 about its release date, trailer, and cast. We have as well some information about what happened in Season 2 and in which timeline the events of the show’s first and second seasons took place.

The question still remains when actually the third season of the series will arrive? Unfortunately, Disney+ has not announced an official release date for the third season but a few sources report that the new season of The Mandalorian will come out around Christmas 2022. This potential release date actually makes sense because the show’s first and second seasons were both released around the same time of the year. For instance, the first season came out in November 2019 and the second at the end of October 2020.

As for the trailer, there is no trailer yet for the new season and we do not really know when we will get a new trailer. We can make a guess from the past release dates of trailers for previous seasons. For example, the official trailer for Season 2 came out almost 2 months before the actual release of the season. So, it is safe to assume the same process will be happening for season 3. This means we can expect a trailer for The Mandalorian Season 3 during fall 2022.

The show’s main character is The Mandalorian himself played by Pedro Pascal who became famous for his role as Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones. Pascal plays Din Djarin, a Mandalorian bounty hunter who is hired by the imperial forces to retrieve the child Grogu, colloquially known as Baby Yoda, but ends up going on a run to protect the child.

We assume both the main character and Grogu will be returning for the third season. We also expect Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) who is a character wanting to take advantage of Grogu’s connection to the Force, to come back for Season 3. The actor himself actually confirmed that the menacing character will play a bigger part in the new season.

Other characters that should be returning in Season 3 are, Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), and Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff).

One of the major events of Season 2 was the return of Boba Fett from the depths of the Sarlacc pit to take care of unfinished business. He became one of the most loved characters of the show so much so that he earned his own show in the end: The Book of Boba Fett.

We also witnessed Ahsoka Tano making her live-action debut coming to help Din Djarin and Baby Yoda. She also had its own plot, besides helping Djarin and Yoda, she wanted to find Grand Admiral Thrawn.

In one of the most intense moments of Season 2, we witnessed Din Djarin fighting one on one with Moff Gideon, winning the dark saber from him at the end.

We also found out the name of Baby Yoda from Ahsoka Tano, who told Djarin the real name, Grogu. Moff Gideon’s evil plans for Grogu were also revealed in Season 2. It turns out Moff wanted Grogu’s blood to inject it into volunteers to create an army.

Finally, the greatest moment of Season 2, the moment that many fans of the Star Wars franchise have been dying for was the return of Luke Skywalker, played by no other than Mark Hamill. It was no short than breath-taking when Skywalker appeared with his iconic green lightsaber.
