The Targaryens had grown weak in Game of Thrones, therefore several houses/characters took center stage, however, the Targaryens are the main emphasis in House of Dragon.
Nevertheless, we know many people who watch the new series are watching it because of the fame of Game of Thrones. Although they are not the exact copy, Game of Thrones will always be the better version of the House of Dragon.
