As much as fans would like to see Ty Borden return to the show, it’s almost certain that he won’t, so it looks like Amy’s new boyfriend, Heartland Finn, will take his place. Unfortunately, actor Graham Wardle made it apparent that he wanted to take a break from performing and he’s been contemplating this next move in his life for years in order to devote more attention to other projects.
Ty falls and dies from deep vein thrombosis, a consequence of his gunshot wound, in the first episode of Season 14, and many fans are hopeful that Season 15 would show that Ty was in a coma or was having a horrible dream the whole time, but that just is not realistic. However, Amy and her family are most likely to move on and find a new purpose in life, and Heartland Finn seems like the perfect boyfriend material for her.
Amy appears to be a role model for single mothers in the upcoming season and there’s also a lot of room for Tim and Lou to grow their present initiatives: furthermore, the fulfilling of old dreams might imply that old faces from the past would return to stir things up in the next season.

Ty was without a doubt Amy’s life’s love and is irreplaceable, which is why his death was so heartbreaking, but it doesn’t mean Amy is condemned to be alone forever, and she can have new love interests in the show. Ty would rather that she be happy and follow her heart if a special someone came along, and it looks like Heartland Finn will be that special person in Amy’s life.
Amy’s social media supporters have divided into two: those who cannot see Amy with anyone else and others who wish she finds a new love, like Heartland Finn. If the series continues long enough, we believe we will see a new romance plotline emerge, and we have some evidence of that, too. Who knows, maybe we’ve already met Amy’s future love unknowingly, and Heartland Finn is a misunderstanding: Cooper Hues, for example, may also be a possibility as he and Amy have already collaborated extensively to save the new horse therapy center.
But, before we go too far ahead of ourselves, keep in mind that Amy is unlikely to be ready for a new relationship, after all, she recently lost her other half and will most likely be in grief, but you never know where a new acquaintance will take you in the future. That is why we thought of diving deep into Heartland Finn and Amy’s relationship status.
Who is Heartland Finn?
Heartland Finn is a member of the show who was played by Robert Cormier, but tributes are flooding in for the Toronto-born actor, who died at the age of 33. He was most recognized for his part in Heartland as Finn Cotter, but we will not be able to see him taking his role once more. On Tuesday, September 27, 2022, Heartland Production announced his untimely death, meaning we will not be able to watch him as Heartland Finn again. Robert has also appeared in television programs including American Gods, Slasher, and Designated Survivor, and on Heartland, he debuted as a new character in Season 15 as Amy’s love interest.
Finn travels from Saskatchewan to Alberta to help his grandfather Al with his horse at his ranch and he was also depicted as Amy’s prospective boyfriend, and fans have long been shipping them.
Is Amy in love with Finn in Heartland?
At first, Amy begins dating Ty Borden, a ranch hand, and the two eventually marry and have a child, but Ty sadly died at the beginning of Season 14, forcing Amy to adjust to being a single mother. Things were difficult between Heartland Finn and Amy at first: while they are cordial, they do not have much in common, but they quickly discover that they like spending time together when Finn shares his expertise and appreciation of tea.
Finn eventually asks Amy out, and she gladly agrees, and we think they look terrific together and lead quite similar lives. Finn has proven himself to be a decent man on several occasions, implying that he would be a good match for Amy.
Is Finn a better match for Amy than Ty in Heartland?
Heartland’s Finn immediately discovered he had a crush on Amy and naturally got more interested in her, and of course, many think that he is a good match, but not a better one. The two kissed in the Season 16 teaser, indicating that they will be each others’ company in the future. However, no one can deny that Amy’s perfect match was Ty Borden, and nothing will be the same in Heartland without him.
