Five Days at Memorial is the latest Apple Tv+ miniseries about the effects of Hurricane Katrina on a hospital in New Orleans. The show premiered on Apple TV+ on August 12 with its 1st 3 episodes. The following episodes will be released weekly until September 16, when the show’s 8th (final) episode will be released.
Five days at Memorial is already well received by critics, as seen by the show’s Rotten Tomatoes score, 88%, with most critics saying the show is brutal yet compelling. Of course, the subject matter and the way it’s handled greatly impact the show is received, but one should also not deny the amazing of the Five Days at Memorial cast, who do their best to make this drama work.

Vera Farmiga plays Dr. Anna Pou, who was accused of euthanizing patients in the events of Hurricane Katrina. Farmiga is best known for The Conjuring film franchise, Bates Motel (2013-2017), The Boy in the Striped Pijamas (2008), and Up in the Air (2009), for which she was nominated for an Oscar. Farmiga (49) married Sebastian Roché in 1997, but the couple divorced in 2004. In 2008, she tied the knot with Renn Hawkey while pregnant with their 1st child. They later had another child and are still together.

Another member of the cast of Five Days at Memorial is Cherry Jones, who portrays Susan Mulderick, the hospital’s nursing director and emergency-incident coordinator during the hurricane. Jones has a successful career both on Broadway and on tv. She won 2 Tony Awards for her plays, The Heiress (1995) and Doubt (2005). On tv, she is known for 24 (2009-2019), Awake (2012), Transparent (2015-2019), and The Handmaid’s Tale (2018-2019).
Jones (65) was in a long-term relationship with Mary O’Connor for 18 years (1986-2004). From 2004 to 2009, she dated Sarah Paulson. Since 2015, Jones has been married to Sophie Huber.

In the series, Dr. Horace Beltz, one of the oldest staff members at the hospital, was played by Robert Pine (81). Pine (yes, Chris Pine’s father) is best known for appearing in the tv series CHiPs (1977-1983). The actor has been married to Gwynne Gilford (m. 1969), who was his co-star from CHiPs. Apart from Chris Pine, the couple also has a daughter named Katie.

Cornelius Smith Jr.

As part of the Five Days at Memorial cast, Cornelius Smith Jr. portrays Dr. Bryant King, an internal medicine specialist working at the Memorial during the hurricane. You may recognize the actor from his role alongside Kerry Washington in Scandal (2015-2018). He is also known or All My Children (2007-2011). The 40-year-old actor has been married to Stephanie Lilly Smith since 2018.

Another member of the Five Days at Memorial cast is Adepero Oduye, who plays Karen Wynn, the nurse manager of the intensive care unit (ICU). Oduye is known for her powerful performances in Pariah (2011), 12 Years A Slave (2013), The Big Short (2015), and Widows (2018). She is 44 and is not known to be dating anyone at the moment.

Emery is best known for her role as Sarah Featherstone in Preacher (2017-2019) and her role as Agent Slyvia Reece in Bosch (2020). The actress is 47 years old and is married to Kevin Earley.
