Amy and Sam Love – Does Amy Fleming get a new love interest?

It’s been 1.5 years since Ty said goodbye to Heartland. For some of us, it still feels like it was yesterday that we all watched Ty coming to Heartland ranch and receive protection from Jack. We Still remember his first initial interaction with Amy Fleming, and how their relationship progressed throughout the years. It is sad to say farewell to him this way since we were expecting the couple to get old together, even to inherit Heartland at some point.

Especially when the couple got their firstborn, Lyndy, we’ve become certain that their happiness will last forever. Unfortunately, we were wrong. Graham Wardle, who was playing the part of Ty, decided to quit the show and put an end to this fairytale. Nevertheless, we cannot get angry with Wardle. He has done what he had to do by informing the showrunners of his intentions two years ahead. Did this lead to a good ending for Ty though? Well, no.

How Ty Borden Died in Heartland?

He got killed off suddenly by a mistaken shot. The process was long and sorrowful for us, as we got manipulated from beginning to end. For a second, it seemed like he would be fine, and then, he dropped dead so suddenly that we couldn’t even understand what had happened at first. Naturally, we got mad. But, more importantly, Amy Fleming got left without her lover and clueless about what to do next. It was so unfair for such a good character. She invested in this relationship for decades, and now, all of a sudden, she is left alone.

We believe that the entire process could have been handled much better, with at least a better prospect for Amy. Thankfully, it’s better late than never. In our opinion, this season, the showrunners will try to make up for what they have caused to the character of Amy Fleming. This means that we will probably get to see her having a well-rounded life with a successful career and family life. However, we also believe that there will be a new love interest for her, hinting that she will find happiness in life once again. In fact, in our opinion, she already did find her new love.

Sam Langston

Who is Sam Langston?

Yes, you guessed it right. We are talking about Sam Langston. Sam is the owner of the Big River Ranch and a former baseball player. He and Amy have been knowing each other for a while now. As fellow ranchers, they highly respect one another and understand each other. Besides, Amy occasionally trusts Sam with sheltering some wild horses. In all their interactions so far, Sam proved to be a perfect gentleman who never hesitates to do his best to help Amy Fleming.

Especially at the beginning of Season15, we watched him assisting Amy heavily in rescuing a wild horse that was about to be sold abroad. It was an action-packed episode for sure. However, it was also a heartwarming one since we observed Amy Fleming being blushed in front of a man for the first time in years. It was clear that she was admiring Sam. Of course, there have been no incidents suggesting that they are more than friends. And yet, it is planted in a clever way that in the future, they might be more than just friends. To be frank, we cannot see anything wrong with a possible relationship between Amy and Sam.

Love story of Amy Fleming and Sam Langston

The two look great together and share a very similar lifestyle. Sam has proved himself to be a righteous man multiple times so far, meaning that he would be a right fit for the Heartland family. Besides, he is well informed on Ty and thus is aware of whom he will be compared against. Of course, no one can fill the shoes of Ty. However, it would be unfair to expect anyone to fill the shoes of Ty anyway. We are not looking for a new Ty.

On the contrary, we are looking for a guy who might as well be the best friend of Ty. Whoever enters Amy’s life, should respect Ty as a man and try to make him proud by caring heavily for both Amy Fleming and Lyndy. In our opinion, Sam Langston might be the right candidate for this purpose.

In the 7th installment of Heartland, we watched Amy going through an important threshold. After spending almost a year in mourning, Amy was looking fine on the surface but was still suffering inside. In this episode, we watched her finally showing that she is ready to be happy inside as well. She even said “I am happy,” sincerely, which is amazing. The triggering incident has become a bitter coincidence.

When she came across the killer of Ty, she initially got baffled and didn’t know what to do. All her sorrow came to the surface once again, as if Ty had died yesterday. She had an inner battle. One side of her was craving revenge and demanding violence while the other side was looking forward to moving on with her life rather than being stuck with the past. Well, eventually, she managed to pick the second option. This was her official farewell to the mourning period in a way, as she expressed clearly that she is ready to live her life now.

Will Amy Marry Sam?

In our opinion, this was a great turning point for Amy’s character arc as she let the world know that she is open to new experiences as well. We believe that by doing so, she was also welcoming new romances into her life. It would probably take time for Amy Fleming to get used to someone new after ty. However, she might at least try dating and give chances to people, which is better than nothing. It is our wish that her first choice will be Sam, who is already available and ready to make her happy.
