All Stranger Things Deaths Ranked From Most Tragic to Least Tragic

Stranger Things Season 4 was full of surprises and farewells, so we had to rank all Stranger Things deaths. Season 4 essentially destroys Hawkins, Indiana, at the end of new episodes as Vecna has just been discovered to be behind all of Hawkins’ continued strangeness. He does so much damage by opening his portals to the Upside Down, and Hawkins was hit by an earthquake, volcanic explosion, and acid rain as a result, which each put our heroes in difficult situations.

This was a season full of twists and turns, and fans definitely enjoyed watching every single minute. We also learned that Vecna’s devastation isn’t restricted to Hawkins as he’s spreading dead all across America, so he’s more powerful than they have ever faced before.

Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp revealed that the series creators had to kill people off in this new season, so fans were prepared for the Stranger Things deaths, but of course, not for all of them.

None of the original company members, siblings, parents, or new friends from Season 2 and 3 are alive anymore. The key Stranger Things characters are mostly safe, but not all of them. Which one was the most tragic death of all considering all the seasons released? Let’s explore the most devastating and tragic Stranger Things deaths below.

1. Dr. Brenner

Dr. Brenner

Dr. Brenner

We said farewell to Papa in Season 4, and it was the most tragic Stranger Things death. Brenner basically tortured children for the US government and never felt guilty about it. Even more, we were delighted when Eleven refused to give the forgiveness he so badly sought, it was definitely a fantastic moment. It was great when he took her collar off, but he is the one who put it on in the first place, but some fans felt sympathy for him, making his death the most tragic one.

Matthew Modine remained brilliantly frightening and ethically ambiguous to the end, and we liked how to managed to create such an amazing character. We think the removal of Dr. Brenner will be a good opportunity for Eleven in the future.

2. Eddie Munson

Eddie Munson

Eddie Munson

Eddie is such a character that many did not understand his character’s attractiveness at first. However, in the middle of the season, we realized that Eddie was essentially a decent version of the always-rude Billy and he was harder-edged than Steve, that is why fans just loved him and were saddened by his death in Season 4.

He was just a metalhead misfit wanting to hang out with his Hellfire pals, did he really deserve all of this? He died in the scene where he resolves to atone for his past fear by sacrificing himself to save Dustin and their other companions, and the moment was absolutely devastating.

3. Jason Carver

Jason Carver

Jason Carver

Jason was a total scumbag because he died while attempting to assassinate Lucas and going all vigilante in white suburbia. We knew he was not going to survive after doing all that, but the way he died was absolutely upsetting, making it the 3rd tragic Stranger Things death.

4. Max Mayfield

Max Mayfield

Max Mayfield

If Max truly died, we would give her the 1st place because it would be the most tragic Stranger Things death ever. However, Stranger Things gifted us by giving her back. Will gives Mike such a big speech about being the heart of the group, but we think that position belongs to Max. Max definitely wants to live, and we last saw her being in a coma which is an indication that she will ultimately get up.

5. Chrissy Cunningham

Chrissy Cunningham

Chrissy Cunningham

Chrissy was Vecna’s first victim, so her arc was limited in the first episode. Her bond with Eddie was quietly endearing, but her pain was excruciating, and we think Grace Van Dien gave her all for such a short time, making her death get the place among the last ones on our list of all Stranger Things deaths ranked.

6. Jim Hopper

Jim Hopper

Jim Hopper

At the end of Stranger Things Season 3, Jim was thought dead after being trapped in an explosion deep beneath the Starcourt Mall, but it did not go that way. The Soviets had apparently built up a hidden laboratory down there where they were attempting to learn more about the Upside Down. They did not wait for Season 4 and hinted that Hopper was alive in a post-credits sequence in Season 3. Since he did not really die, Hopper’s death is among the least tragic Stranger Things deaths.

7. Barbara

Barbara

Barbara

Barbara was the 1st person to be killed in the entire series, and she was Nancy Wheeler’s best friend. We later learned that she had been murdered by the Demogorgon, but it was not as tragic as the other Stranger Things deaths.
