The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 Release Date

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 release date hasn’t been announced yet. The last episode of Season 5 was just released, on November 9, 2022, so it’s still too early to give an exact date for the premiere of the next season.

However, based on the release dates of previous seasons, we can say that Hulu released the first three seasons every year. However, due to the pandemic, the series took a two-year break between seasons 3 and 4. Season 5, on the other hand, came out after a one-year hiatus. So, speculating about the release date of The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6, we can say that it’ll probably be released in the late months of 2023.

We see June lying still outside her Toronto home.

After June was almost shot at the memorial, at the end of The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5 we see her recovering. Shortly after, we see her lying still outside her Toronto home.

Luke intervenes to save her just in time and kills the driver of the car. They have to choose between having Luke surrender or leaving Toronto as soon as possible. Since June ended her relationship with Lawrence, the thought of her visiting New Bethlehem is no longer an option.

Nick is also shocked by June’s near-death experience. So he attacks Lawrence in a room full of commanders and is subsequently taken into custody when we see him handcuffed in a room alone. Although Gilead law forbids divorce, Rose visits him to tell him that their marriage is over, and then leaves him.

Luke turns himself in at the end of the episode, despite June’s wishes. However, this allows her to escape with Nichole. They board a train with refugees, all of whom are leaving Canada because they fear they’ll be attacked by protesters from that country.

June takes Nichole on the train with her, though she tells Luke she doesn’t want to go alone and flees. At the end of the episode, June runs into Serena, who supposedly shares June’s desire to escape from the citizens of Toronto.

At the end of Season 5, June tells Nichole that they’re traveling to Hawaii while boarding the train. However, all we know is that the train is heading west. Theoretically, June may wind up in the north of a state like Montana or Washington, since we know that the rebels control almost all of the territory on the U.S.-Canada border. We know that Hawaii is currently free of Gilead, and June is bringing it up. However, this place would be the farthest from Hannah, as June still wants her daughter to return.

Why Do the Handmaids Have Their Mouths Sewn Shut?

The maids in D.C. have to wear mouth covers and their mouths have been sewn shut by ring piercings. But why? Showrunner Bruce Miller told Business Insider on the subject, “It was my idea to put it in the show. It was an extrapolation of the enforced silence, which is the idea that handmaids are told to be quiet, and they’re forced to be quiet.”

In addition, the mouth covers drastically obscure the maids’ facial expressions. The covering of the half of the face therefore reinforces the effect of dehumanization to which the maids are subjected, in addition to their uniforms and the names given to them according to the names of their commanders.
