Who is Lou Fleming?
The full name of Lou is Samantha Louise Fleming, and she is the daughter of Tim and Marion Fleming. She is the older sister of Amy, the protagonist of the whole Heartland story. At the beginning of the series, we see Lou working in New York after attending college there. After her mother’s accident and death, Lou moves back to the Heartland ranch.
At 1st, Amy and Lou don’t get along very well, especially when it comes to the issues of the ranch. Amy is confused because Lou only went to the ranch for a few days in the past. She does not understand why Lou is interested in the ranch suddenly. But Lou is protective of Amy and does not want to leave her alone. They later learn how to work together.
Before Lou and Peter’s relationship in the later seasons, Lou dates a few other men. In the 1st episode of the series, she is actually dating a guy named Carl, who even proposes to her. But Lou learns that Call has only proposed to her because he got a job and told the employers there that he was already engaged. When Lou finds this out, their relationship comes to an end.
Lou then dates Scott Cardinal and Mark Rodriguez. After this, Lisa arranges a date between Lou and Peter, and that’s how their story starts.

After Marion’s death, Lou decides to stay on the ranch to help the ranch recover from financial problems.
