It seems like an eternity since the 1st season of Alice in Borderland, and fans are already demanding Alice in Borderland Season 2. The show is based on the popular manga series of the same name and the Japanese drama, which premiered in late 2020, introduced us to an alternative, barren Tokyo.
In this alternative universe, a handful of strangers were thrown against each other in a series of often-deadly games chosen by intelligence, muscle, and deceit. It rapidly became a fan favorite, and after reaching Netflix’s Top 10 in over 40 countries and territories, it felt like a no-brainer to commission the Alice in Borderland Season 2. But when will Alice in Borderland Season 2 be released, who will be in it, and what will the narrative be?

Alice in Borderland Anime
Alice in Borderland (Ryouhei Arisu) is about a high schooler with no goals who want to leave what he perceives to be a worthless existence. One night, he and his two pals Daikichi Karube and Chouta Segawa witness an unusually big firework soar into the sky, signaling a lasting shift in their life.
The three are transported to the Borderland after being blinded by the extremely brilliant explosion. The only people on this planet are participants in a deadly game in which specified duties must be completed in order to survive. Ryouhei feels alive for the first time in his life as the three begin to play to figure out how they can get back home. We are expecting to see a similar plot in Alice in Borderland Season 2.
Alice in Borderland Cast
The cast of Alice in Borderland has some very successful actors that worked together to create this amazing show. Kento Yamazaki is the actor that portrays Arisu Ryhei, Tao Tsuchiya performs Usagi Yuzuha, and Yki Morinaga performs Segawa Chta. Let’s see the other actors in detail.
Kuina Alice in Borderland
Hikari Kuina is a gem in the rough, perhaps one of the greatest characters in the series and we love her. Her father’s rejection of her transsexual status has no effect on her ability to carry her head high while honing her talents as a skilled warrior. Such abilities come in useful after a disastrous night at the Beach, and she is lucky to discover her closest friend, Chishiya when they join Arisu and Ugasi in their hunt for answers to their captivity in Borderland.
Alice in Borderland Chishiya
Chishiya is a more relaxed counterpart of Alice’s white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland. Instead of rushing to the Queen’s court, Chishiya is intent on gathering all of the cards from each game with the goal of escaping or gaining power with the game masters. Chishiya’s calm observation and precise commanding of power on the Beach and throughout the games are given a subtle touch by Nijir Murakami.
Squid Game vs. Alice in Borderland
Both Alice in Borderland and Squid Game have their own strange tiny universes where the activities are arranged, but in actuality, the actors are encircled by blue screens, giving spectators the impression that the performers are in a completely separate setting.
Without giving too much away from the initial book series, Alice in Borderland is set in a dim, dark, and violent version of Tokyo, and while there’s a post-apocalyptic sentiment to the show’s environment, there’s also the more utopian Beach, where people are drinking with friends and simply engaging in whatever vices they can distract themselves with.
Squid Game’s arena is narrower and more confined because it takes place on an isolated island, but the stages where the games take place are often more memorable than Alice in Borderland’s metropolitan settings, owing to the “playgrounds” in Squid Game evoking childhood reminiscence.
